From The Sunday World: Stephen Ireland is crying all the way to the bank after failing to earn a single cent un his first two months at Newcastle. Toon boss Alan Pardew has revealed that the controversial Cork man -Who likes to splash out on gaudy cars- has not received a pay packet since switching from Aston Villa on transfer deadline day. 'He's on a pay-as-you-play deal here but because of his injuries he has yet to figure with us. It hasn't cost us anything but its very frustrating'. On-loan Ireland cannot play against Aston Villa next week so his first chance to boost his bank balance will come when Newcastle face Manchester United on April 19th. Meanwhile Giovanni Trapattoni, having lost Kevin Doyle, has learned that Newcastle's Leon Best is almost certainly out for the rest of the season.(****) Make for an interesting read and at least we haven't wasted any money on the prat.
Good deal, fair enough. Pretty impressed. Gutted about Besty though! Arrgghhh. I wanna see him play more!
It's a real shame about Best, he's done really well. Glad we're not paying Ireland while he's not playing.
