I don't think we need him as we have alot of central midfielders already with Guthrie, Barton, Nolan, Tiote and Gosling can play a central role when he comes back. I think we need a striker and Winger instead as Carroll is out Ameobi is good as back up and Best is a one game wonder Lovenkrands is not good enough he doesnt anticipate any runs so i think we should sign Keane (if hes willing to take a pay cut) and a winger to replace Routledge

Taking S. Ireland on loan with a view to a permanent (if we can negotiate this) surely will be a great signing. The fact that he is looking for a move proves he has ambition and not just a journey man like Keane. He's still young and although there are other areas we need to strengthen before midfield, I'd still take him.
