Yeah well that lies at one persons feet, he who can do no wrong!! Momentum!! When we go in front we should try and kill off the opposition, not try to defend a one goal lead. Toooo defensive, toooo negative ffs!!
1 thing in defense of the team today, Bournemouth had 3 days between games while we only had 2. This may not seem much but the stats show that teams with the longer break have a very good record in these sort of games
Thats what you get when................... You only know how to play one way!!!! Sooooooo gutted, frustrated, angry, pissed off, etc etc etc
Brighton, Reading and Bournemouth will be feeling the same. It's actually opened up the door for Blackburn and Watford to be in with a shout and as Spanish rightly points out momentum is important. The fact of the matter is though that we will probably finish sixth if we win our final two matches so although mathematically it's not in our hands in practice it probably is.
You cant keep throwing these excuses, poor tactics once again cost us. We went in front and then tried to defend it, poor subs etc, not good enough!! They went for it, we tried to salvage a point from a winning position, says it all!!
Hampy Its far from dead but we should have been there by now, too many poor subs etc has cost us, many from winning positions. Had we gone for it in games where we took the lead we probably would have picked up an extra 6 or more points, which would have made us play off certs!!
To be fair, my feelings about MM are no secret, i think he is sooo limited, he makes his teams hard to beat etc but thats about it. I will however, through gritted teeth, thank him for stabilising us. I don't think he is the man to take us forward but he has made us hard to beat etc. On a side note, i don't arf rate Eddie Howe as a manager, a young top notch manager who is forward thinking, i wanted him at PR years ago, before he went to Burnley and i have not changed my mind!!
Season over but it was fun while the dream lasted! Truth is we aren't yet good enough but full credit to Mick for getting this average group of players performing above expectations! I can't see much changing in the Summer as Evans will not spend the money we need on a two or three quality players!
Warky, it could have been so much better had MM been more adventurous!! Then you really would have been able to slam my words down my throat, which by the way is pretty full at the moment with alcohol!! I think Mick has let us/you down and i have had enough of his lame excuses. Yes he has over achieved but it could have been so much better!! Heyho and not looking for an arguement at all, gutted but still clinging on to the hope....
Very, very frustrating weekend. Keeping all other results the same we would currently be level on points with Wigan, 4 Points clear with 2 games to go i.e a chance to confirm play-offs at Burnley. But we're still in it, and we cant lose sight of the fact that top 10 was the realistic aim at the start of the season. Above all, on current form is the 6th place finisher, whoever manages it, really going to (or deserve to) threaten the play-off mix? (although as i've said previously, I harbour reasons for optimism should we manage it)
One thing all game and who is to say someone else would not have scored, i actually meant poor subs all season tho, sorry for not making that clear!! Saying that he brought on a defender today when leading and we conceeded, so that counteracts your point!! I, unlike you have not given up tho, its still possible!!
Those that said we would not finish top ten seem to be moaning louder about us not securing sixth than those of us that have said all along that we have a chance..... Still time for more twists and turns ..........I think all teams involved are feeling the pressure of the situation.
