What's your most memorable England games, your allowed 3. Mine in no particular order are 1. england 5 germany 1 on a stag do in dublin at the time 2. england 2 scotland 1 wembley in the euros 3. england 1 Argentina 2 hand of a cnut
5-1 against the germans 2-3 against germans in mexico 1970 beckham almost single handedly hauling us into world cup against greece
Not sure what your getting at there mind. Beckham although not the best player ever always gave his all. One thing you could never question was his commitment to England.
One that stays in my mind was England v Slovakia in 2003 during the European Championship, I was in Slovakia in a pub with lots of Slovak friends when we went 1 nil down in the first half - naturally lots of piss taking ensued until the second half when we scored a couple of goals and won 2-1 ... remember drinking inordinate amounts of beer as one my mates owned the pub. Wasn't the best of matches but was relieved we won. England 5 Germany 1 would be my second choice- reckon it would be most peeps favorite if they cannot remember 1966 Third choice cannot think of one
Good photo opportunity and dare I say it if you convince enough people in the right places (through PR) that you are that good you may even get a knighthood
The one that sticks out in my mind was when the Jocks beat us at Wembley when they pulled the goals down & dug up the pitch. Can't remember the year as I was very young but I was mesmerised watching it on tv.
i know i've picked my 3 but...............................
Aye, that's the one marra. Christ, I'd have been ten at the time. I still have a few mates in Glasgow & they still talk of it with a glint in there eyes. But when they do I remind them of this. God, I miss the home internationals though. Remember one time a bloke my dad worked with had something to do with the SFA & got a couple of tickets for Scotland v England. When we got up to Hampden we found out they were for the home end. I was still very young at the time but there's two things I remember about the game. One was a load off pissed up Jocks lying about with bottles of vodka & whiskey on the terrace & the other was, we won 2-1 & were ****ing ****ting ourselves trying to get back to the coach. Happy days, bring them back I say. .
Have no interest whatsoever in the English side. Alan "hypocrite" Shearer all over the place saying how the lads that are getting a chance deserve it - well Alan, what happened when Kevin Phillips, the best striker in Europe at the time, should have got a chance for England? Oh that's right, you veto'd it along with threatening the FA if they retrospectively banned you for kicking someone in the head!! I completely lost interest back whern Phillips was at the top of his game. Completely ignored by the England manager and was comfortably the best English striker in the at the time. The succession of "We'll ignore Sunderland" from subsequent Engfland manager has only affirmed my dislike of the national side - to the extent of I find myself grinning when they play **** and lose
England 2 Mexico 0......1966 World Cup England 4 West Germany 2.....1966 World Cup Final England 3 Spain 1......2014 World Cup Final..
And by 'PR' you mean travelling the world to raise awareness for sick Children, HIV/AIDS and injured soldiers? Forget the fact he can drop the ball on a 5p coin from 100 yards, that's all down to opinion on whether you appreciate him as a player, some do, some don't I can get that part. You can't suggest he's being knighted as a result of misleading people into thinking he was a good footballer, he's not being knighted for his free kicks! He's being knighted for his contribution to football (which stretches way beyond what he does on the pitch) and his services to charity.
