We now have 7 players with the experience of captaining their international side..
    Park, captain of South Korea
    Ramsey, captain of Wales
    Arshavin, captain of Russia
    Vermalaen, captain of Belgium
    Rosicky, captain of Czech Republic
    Benayoun, captain of Israel
Mertesacker, captained Germany for 2nd half against Poland (presumably not first time)

can any other clubs come close? not that it's any special achievement, as many are minor footballing nations, but an interesting fact I thought, and shows we definitely have experience in depth..

Thing is, although they are captains, they are not all captains for the right reasons, bar Vermaelen.
Park is because he's the best player now that the other Park retired from internationals, and leads by scoring, more of a talisman.
Gary Speed stated that Ramsey is for teh future, but he wanted him to have captain experience now.
Arshavin is the longest serving member and probably best player. Talisman
Vermaelen is the only real captain.
    Rosicky, talisman.
    benayoun, best player.
mertesacker is not captain, he is not even a german starter atm.

Only Vermalen as stated is true captain material, Jack Wilshere and RVP have the right attitude also and are captain material. RVP is a decent captain, that said between himself and Tommy hard to know when the next injury is around the corner.
RVP been strangly injury free the last while, hope it continues, he is our main chance of top 4, if he goes out we can forget it IMHO..
