Get rid of them. Sick of them taking two weeks at a time from the season to play a 90 minute game.

England do play twice this time, but look on the brightside it's 2 weeks that Aluko can spend recovering without missing a game.

    They play Friday and midweek.

Important games if we're to make it to Brazil, as well.

Yeah, I know Aluko can rest up, but it's still annoying that the only football is League 1 and 2. That said, if Ferriby are at home it's a good excuse to go.

Dont see a problem myself. Has come at a good time for us. Time to sit back and take stock of august and get our injured players fit. Good that McGregor and Boyd have pulled out of Scotland squad. Focus on Cardiff now.

I wonder what Brady, Meyler, McShane are saying to Shane Long now ? Our media need to ask them next week.

Most countries are playing friday and tuesday. A few are saturday and tuesday.

With Aluko and McGregor both currently injured, I think it's bizarre that anyone would complain about them being given more time to recover from their injuries.

Yeah I know what you mean, it would be better if the games were spread out a bit more, I quite fancied watching Ireland v Sweden but it's on at the same time as England and I would have watched Scotland get beat by Belgium but that's on at the same time. They should have all the home nations play Saturday one after the other I need my weekend football fix, Brazil play Australia on saturday night but it's on BT Sport :headbang:

Agree totally, and not only Aluko (Hamstring) & McGregor (groin/pelvis) but also Boyd (ankle/foot) and not forgetting Faye (calf/shin). Physioroom.com has Faye probably fit for 14th but the other three are quoted as 'no return date' which is quite worrying!

The international breaks also raise the concern of club v country. Clubs play the wages blah blah blah....

Maybe it's time to think about a whole new strategy for playing club and international games.

I've often thought why not have a domestic season of 38 weeks? All League, cups and European games all played within this window with
no breaks for international games. Then have the next 6 weeks purely for international qualifiers or World Cup/Euros (For example year 1 have
WC qualifying, year 2 the WC tournament, year 3 Euro qualifiers, year 4 Euro tournament and then back to WC qualifying to complete the cycle).
Finally an 8 week close season.

We could even break with tradition and start in March so the close season is in Jan/Feb with the season being played through the summer.

    Or another alternative would be:
    19 weeks domestic
    6 weeks international
    19 weeks domestic
    8 weeks closed
Again, a March start would keep the 6 week international window during the summer months.

Maybe we should use the winter WC in Qatar in 2022 to plan ahead and completely re-schedule domestic leagues and international
    touraments ?

I feel a letter to the FA and FIFA coming on................
