There were suggestions from some at the beginning of this season that Ryan Bertrand was a better left back than Danny Rose. That claim can now be seen to be completely laughable. He's okay but he's nowhere near Danny Rose.

  2. Dier is having a great game - becoming a vital part of this team and starting to look like a potential captain.

Sterling is a conundrum: appears to have loads of talent but doesn't seem to fit with the style of play and certainly not a 'presser'. Not sure we could afford him every game.

Oxo has just been a peripheral figure .... Very disappointing.

Edit: i would add Lallana to the peripheral figures so far...

Awful offside call, unless the linesman feels that the England player played it back, but Hart has to do better there.
He's capable of being a very good keeper, but he makes too many silly, unforced errors. Really needs to up his game.
Still much better than Bravo, mind.

Sterling's got to score that. It's an open goal, FFS.

  6. Oxo has done more in first 3 minutes of this half.... Which isn't saying much <laugh>

I think that Southgate needs to make a change.
I'd suggest removing Walker, Dier and Alli and putting on Clyne, Livermore and Barkley... <whistle>

Job done, I guess, but that was all rather boring and routine, wasn't it?
All of the intensity and brightness of the Germany game was gone.
Should be looking to put sides like that to the sword, in my opinion.

  14. Surprised Chamberlain lasted the full match. Added nothing after 50 mins and he just isn't a CM!

A player capable of making the play would make such a difference to this team. It could be Winks if he continues to progress. He has the game to be at the centre of everything, spreading the play and spotting spaces between defenders.

In the meantime the press will continue to pine for Wilshire, as even they have gone silent on Rooney doing the world's worst Pirlo impersonation.

Remind me, who was it who said that Defoe would be starting against Lithuania as he hadn't played a second against Germany? Oh right, it was me.

Don't dawdle when admitting I was right and you were wrong Diego...

Disappointing performance. And once again the Spurs lads are made to complete 90 minutes. Walker, in particular should be treated with more care by England.

Really happy for Defoe to score on his return, and little Bradley getting to walk out with him.

Really happy that Rashford was once again only used as a late sub due to his lack of playing time for his club...

  20. And he was excellent again for the whole 90 mins. Must be shattered! :steam:
