I take it that means 9 shots our opposition have taken whilst playing us?

If so, it means defensively we are doing well to restrict shots on our goal even though we have conceded 5 goals from 9 shots against.

Yes, 5 goals from 9 on target seems a high ratio but stats can be deceptive. It'd be interesting to see how many off target shots we've allowed...

Those suggest we're comfortably holding our own, even in the lost matches. If only we had a Charlie...

Austin's performance for Saints v Sunderland looked woeful. Subbed off for Rodriguez and rated a 5 in the Sunday Times. Even in the highlights he looked way off the pace.

Just thinking of him when he was with us, that move certainly seems to have jinxed him...

More than most he needs game time to get into a run of scoring, and his constant injuries and stiffer competition will leave him struggling. Wouldn't be surprised to see him moved on at Christmas to a struggling PL team.

Didn't he score their winner against Man United.
That will have paid the transfer fee alone surely

Think that's the only league goal he's scored for them so far.........Agree with Stan that the little that was shown Saturday on MOTD he looked way off the pace.......

Anyway back on topic, must be doing something right from the DCM's back to Smithies if teams are struggling to get shots on target, long may it last.......
