No idea how genuine this was but saw a tweet today suggesting when we came out of receivership or whatever five years ago, there was a clause, if club was sold for a profit within five years, Bates would have to pay the debtors at the time an extra dividend. Interestingly the fifth anniversary is 12th July. Maybe sale is being held back till after that date?
Rumour. Dont forget Bates has only recently brought the club off the mystery men so all outstanding payments etc would have had to been dealt with then if there's a shed of truth in it
It was only 1 year and remember Bates has already technically bought us since then. One of those rumours that gets repeated so many times people start thinking it's fact.
