What’s causing them? Can’t just be a coincidence. City have been jinxed all season but credit the squad for just getting on with it. Trying to read between the lines from the gaffers press conference it doesn’t look good for Morrison or Paterson tomorrow. Rumour on another site that Etheridge also injured. Not mentioned by NW though. Those 3 would be huge misses, the former 2 not least due to their heading abilities to counter Flint. On another point, does he go 4-4-2 again after the 2nd half display at Ipswich? Bristol are strong and quick on the break so expect to see 3 in central midfield.
All very worrying. It's a tough league. We dish it out so expect to get it back, e.g. Millwall on Madine. I thought Morrison took a knock when he scored v. Boro. Bennett should be back as I'm not comfortable with Connolly at left back. I suspect Paterson will play some part but have doubts over Morro. Point taken re: formation but if we had Ken and Madine up top that would give the Wurzels' centre backs something extra to think about and Madine would cover Flint at set pieces.
Morrison is the big miss. Somehow we need to get a fit right back. Pity Marlon Pack is suspended - hes ****e.
It seems and odd thing to say but if Morro and Pato are both out it may make a lot of sense to double up up front instead. Trying to contain teams is far easier when you give them something to worry about themsleves. A back line of Connolly, Manga, Bamba and Bennett doesn't look half bad if you stick Grujic in front of them. Going with a Zohore/Madine combo up front leaves 3 places up for grabs. I'd scarifice a wide man (Mendez for me) and play Hoilett in a free wide role with Ralls and Bryson (or Damour) to buzz around in midfield to provide. Madine and Zohore together can cause problems for anyone in this division. Avoiding that option by just shoring up the defence could just invite them on.
