I just bumped into a Geordie mate of mine and he told me that the worst-hit clubs for injuries are Arsenal, Newcastle and City.

    (Anyone got a link to the Daily Mail article about the subject?}

Haha it probably didn't go down like this, but the way you worded that made me think the conversation went:

"Howay Stan, long time no see mate!"
    "Hey, how's it going?"
"****in' beltin' mate. The top three injury hit clubs in the Premier League are Arsenal, Newcastle and Hull."
    "Er"
    "See you later mate!"

I have got a link to a website that seems pretty accurate and Newcastle are indeed at the top, but we're 5th.

The players cannot be fit enough from the start, far to many injuries. Hernandez will be 1 game in 6, clearly not fit enough to keep up the work rate.

Surely, questions have got to be asked about this number of injuries. Is it just bad luck? Have to wonder if there is something wrong about the way we are preparing players as we are getting so many injuries both in games AND in training. And then to compound it, we bring in people who aren't fit (Hernadez, Ramirez). Ah well, at least we spotted that Charlie Austin wouldn't stay fit - just as well really.

I am amazed at the number of injuries. What was the prognosis on Jelavić and Hernandez? Nice job we were able to replace 2 strikers with 2 midfielders, to completely nullify our goal threat. A reminder to people who said 'We don't need to sign any more strikers'. We've gone from needing one as a minimum to two as a minimum.

This is why you need four first team strikers in your squad.

Hernandez out for a month and Jelly needs a scan on his knee that he had surgery on is what was said in another thread.

    http://www.hulldailymail.co.uk/Bruc...noon-Nikica/story-25835883-detail/story.html?

"Early indications suggest Hernandez could miss "at least a month" with a groin injury, while Jelavic will require scans on his knee, Bruce said."

Are the players out of condition, or simply not warming up properly? I have never known injuries like it. 5 potentially long absences in just the last 2 games. It is ridiculous.

Has Jelavic actually played two games in a row since the injury he had earlier in the season?

We really need him to stay fit, and we also need at least one more striker with a bit more of a scoring instinct than Hernandez has. Someone like Defoe would be ideal, if possible.

I've done no sport science or have any degree in this sort of thing but I do believe there must be something wrong with the way we are training our players, I have never seen so many injuries. and I've noticed it's always the same type of injury, the groin seems to be the most common! .....over doing it, I think!

We seem to be trying to have to save ourselves from relegation by using the most impotent strike force possible.
