I hate that we've analysed the last few winners of major tournaments and come to the conclusion its all about being good defensively. Its right of course, but I don't like negative football which is what I feel Southgate delivers a lot. When we score he is immediately happy to sit and manage the game. Hell he might turn out to be right, but I prefer football to be high tempo - I watched Germany high press and full throttle against Portugal, it was a fantastic watch. I really enjoyed Henderson's and Bellingham's introduction last night. They started pressing really high, Henderson was proper on it. However I think the Rice and Phillips axis looks locked in for Southgate. I've decided he might be right about defensive football having looked at it. Its just not what I like. Saying all that though, why has no one approached Benitez about international management? May not be my cup of tea but I tell you what, they'd struggle to find someone better suited to stopping the opposition.
