Always ruining my bloody weekends. I'm being serious, I think I need to take a back seat or at least try to, It makes me so ****ing angry when we don't win and the past few years that has been rather a lot. The result is it ruins my ****ing weekend, makes me angry and then I seethe through till Monday. Transition is all well and good but why do I have the feeling that at the very best we will turn into a poor-man's Arsenal, and look what they win without money, **** all - like we will. I can't remember the last time I really enjoyed being a Liverpool fan.
To be fair, when we were good we were always like this against Stoke. The last game I went to was Stoke last season and that was a lot worse than today. I was incredibly angry after that game.
I agree with this. Although we didn't play that great today, it wasn't as bad as some are making out. at least we tried to keep possession and play football. And we hit the woodwork three more times too
Stoke at their ground, fair enough. But they are ****e on the road and were ****e today. We only have ourselves to blame for such an abject result and dispaly today
the main problem i saw today was no one was getting into the box to get on the end of balls being played in, whats the point of having all that build up play and then when the final ball is played in no one wants to take a gamble and get in the box ffs. brendan also made a mistake in bringing on cole a player who hasnt played since the start of the season a player who barley gets any goals a player who is slow and old, instead of a striker (borini) who is young hungry and pacey and would have done more than cole did in the time given.
Last seasons game against Stoke was our worst of the year. Todays wasnt much better though. I thought second half (as with Udinese) we were unbelievably predictable. This was pretty much our first team (bar Lucas) and that is a serious worry. I can live with lots of nice passing and movement but why on gods earth did we spend the second half throwing balls into the box for Mandy (he ain't here lads). Fair enough chuck a few in after 85 mins but don't STOP throwing them in at 85 and start passing sideways and backwards ffs All in all maybe not quite as bad as last year...but still pretty rubbish.
I said that the Norwich game would be followed by a poor result, not the loss I predicted but still poor. Spurs beat United away and continued to do the business against lesser opposition, something we really need to start doing. Anfield is a long way off from being a 'fortress'. I think Everton have beaten Swansea in all 3 of their games, Moyes seems to know how to counter passing football. I think that will be a very very tough game, plus their players will be up for it after last season. Just hope we can improve massively before then.
The way we played today combined with the way Neverton are playing....well let's just say I can see a "we're going to get twatted" thread from Mito coming along. I really will find it hard to argue as well If that's our strongest 11 (bar lucas) we have serious issues. Oh well, at least we kept a clean sheet despite Reina continually trying to gift them the ball mind you who can't do that at home to a team with every player behind the ball
The only saving grace is I know we can play better, and the likes of Gerrard, Sahin and even Suarez had a fairly off day. Were you at the game?
Yeah...crawled off my ****ing sick bed for it as well Think I'm back off there now as well. Bollox to it all
What was the atmosphere like? It seemed pretty dire from an armchair point of view, probably due to the way we were playing. We just seem to lack confidence at Anfield these days... not surprising to be honest with only 2 wins this year.
Very subdued same as it was on Thursday. The whole place was rocking for the first few games but right back to normal now I'm afraid.
Common sense dictates that you really need to lower your expectations this year. I can't even comprehend how you could even imagine that Liverpool will do anything for the foreseeable future. Expect not to win until we buy a striker or two.
I still love being a Liverpool fan, but admit to being constantly frustrated since Rafa left. Home games to the likes of Stoke have been a problem for the past 5-6 years, in 2008 it was Stupid home draws that ultimatley cost us the title. What Frustrates me this\last season is that we are not that **** and there are not that many games that we have not deserved to win. Not buying a Striker in the summer was criminal IMO, it was the glaring omission in our squad last year, that was plain for all to see.
And that was the case before Carroll, Kuyt and Bellamy left too On top of that, we put all our eggs in one Dempsey shaped basket who has not exactly been scoring for fund for the spuds
I've an easy answer here; you really enjoyed being an LFC fan between 2005 and 2007.... really really simple. then Moore the C**T sold us to yanks and we were destroyed. its really that simple. 2009 was a last hurrah where we beat real and utd playing great but the writing was on the wall. the past 4 years have seen a total destruction of the side and we are... frankly... nowhere near 4th place but of course one win v norwich and we're hearing the same old sh1TTe out of gerrard about top 4... angry... hulk bloody angry mate but you have to see that we are what we are and just being angry solves nothing. It took a bank to get us sold out form those yanks and now we are in the same place, just with a more honest no you an't have money shower who seem to be just bungling most decisions as they go merrily on thier way. Not to worry though.. it is after all great relaity tv isn't it. being liverpool... they should make a youtube comedy knock off it'd be hilarious... get soem fans to really show what its like being liverpool. rant over... now stop venting and start seeing the big picture. put torres back in your FF team, be thankful we've still got a club unlike say rangers, or pompey or a few others and admit to yourself once and for all we are not top 4 material at this point in time.
