I know we missed out on Ince and for one I am not overly fussed we didn't get him. Anyhow I was thinking again why no other team has come in for him yet. Given that he has immense talent and is destined for bigger things how come no other club has approached him? Now I believe he will enter the final year of his contract in August which makes me think he's going to wait for a Bosman move. If this is the case how safe will Ince senior be in his job? Did Ince senior talk junior out of the Cardiff move? If so, has he mentioned to junior the pay day he would get if he moved on a Bosman? The Blackpool board must be seething that they will potentially get next to nothing for junior should he move to a premiership side for the 2014-15 season. If junior plays hard-ball on a new contract and doesn't look likely to extend his contract by January will the board accept any bid just to get some return on the youngster? If this fails, how safe will Ince senior feel given he must be aware the board may think he has steered junior in a certain direction?
Senior has already had one resignation letter rejected by the chairman. So I don't know exactly what that says about his attitude towards Blackpool. My guess is that Liverpool will move on Downing if they can and if/when that happens Ince will move there. Having said that they seem to rate Alberta (sp?) so maybe he's missed the chance to go there already. I was reading the other day Blackpool have lost 11 of their first team squad. I think either Daddy need to sign some players quickly or jnr needs to find a club that wants him and is next to his house or he'll be playing Championship relegation battle football next season.
I would not take him now after he had turned my club down and now finds that nobody else wants him...let him rot at blackpool...
I thought I saw Ince Snr coming out saying he told Junior he'd need to leave for his careers sake Surely not a thinly veiled "wasn't me guv, honest"?!
Simple. Ince snr = total plank. He cannot see past his favourite clubs and is blinded by his own tunnel vision. Crap manager and will go the way of other “big“ name ex players who have absolutely no idea.
I think the only thing keeping Ince Snr at Blackpool is Ince Jnr. Once he's gone (Jnr) the Blackpool board with get their revenge.
its because no one else is willing to pay £8m for him, thats top money and he will probably now go on a free. paul ince has shown where his loyalties lie (his son, and not where it should be - blackpool fc, his employers) and is skating on thin ice because of it. ince is a poor manager, even had the cheek to whine a while back that he wasnt getting opportunities in management because he's black, never mind the fact he flopped badly at blackburn, and still seems to have a level of arrogance that is off the charts.....
All good points Taff ,and all good replies too..... I for one am sad he turned us down because he COULD have been a good un ..... although untried ..... If Malky thinks he's worth a punt that's fine by me. Now I'm bitter, I hope he gets sold to anyone for a tenner and breaks his leg before the season starts ,for me a bird in the hand etc ......some birds bush blah blah
