He's worth at least double that Dave so I don't think he'll be going to Wolves accept of course if its on loan!
that is certainly true! warky, i think wolves probably are interested in jackson - i understand charlton are too - but we won't sell until we've brought someone else in and even then, i'd be somewhat surprised if jackson was allowed to leave as it would leave us in the same predicament numbers-wise as we are in now, albeit with a better (hopefully) forward in his place
I'm a fan of Jackson, have been since he played wel against us for Gillingham back in the League One season and I was well chuffed when we signed him. However I do have reservations as to whether or not he can quite cut it in the top flight, my instinct tells me probably not so if we can find a better replacement I think a couple of million for him to a championship team would be good business for everyone as that is the level where he is most suited.
I'm a fan of Jackson too but I suspect he won't be here much longer, if not now in the summer. I imagine Wolves fans will look at his goal scoring record and feel that he isn't good enough for them, but that would be a mistake. Jackson is fantastic against Championship opposition, as shown against P'boro and in the second half of our promotion season. He just doesn't quite have the technique to cut it at a mid-table Prem team, which is what we are aiming for. £1m would be a fair price for both sides
I think some fans are a little worried as in the mainstream media there is hardly much speculation on our part especially in comparison to other clubs, but a lot of fans obviously don't know where to look for news. A lot of the Norwich based media notably Archant have sparse coverage on their websites the Pinkun for an example has absolutely zilch apart from the old lets throw out the CMS rumour etc every week. Perhaps the club has a total media black out, we all know stuffs happening behind the scenes some people are perhaps a tad impatient or bit worried. It happens with fans at most clubs I imagine.
Of the strikers I think only Holt will be left next year, the rest really do need to be moved on, they've had there chance and not done it often enough. What are they missing, touch and technique, both Morison and Jackson are hopeless at it. I'm not anxious as to when we sign someone, as long as they are not merely described as "aeriel threats" or "pacey".
It's all very well to talk of strikers moving on put sometimes you do have to look at things from the players' point of view. We have all been guilty of moving on Morison, Martin and maybe even Jackson now. But maybe they don't want to move. I guess they must be on between 15-20K a week and if they have a contract left, may not want to go to the Midlands for instance on half that money. They might just want to wait to get pushed out. I know they know the score when they enter the profession but a couple of seasons at 750K is not to be sneezed at.
