    of course we do

    money isn't an issue

we tried to sign a few prospects like llori and Alberto and we also tried to sign Costa, Mkhi and Willian.

Unfortunately only the prospects wanted to come to us

"for that money we could have bought player x" is nonsense - we tried to sign player x as well, but they wanted CL football (aka not Liverpool)

  2. If we had signed one of Costa, Henry Ryan or Willian, would we have signed Ilori and Sakho?

of course - they're defenders and Rodgers wanted them

I am fairly sure we didn't thin kthe sahko deal was at all sure so we bought both. we should have delayed and delayed and when sahko came off then pulled out of this.

7mil down the pan and if you add that to aspas.. god 14mil there IMO wasted.

He might turn out great who knows but as 5th choice cb? he's not got a hope of doing anything.

7mil on a 5th choice CB and 7mil on a lightweight forward who's no good. our summer if you look critically turned out to be toure free, sahko buy and mingolet buy and the rest are not good rally. we need a successful transfer window in january. IMO we flogged stil la better keeper

what, so you don't think we were in for Ryan, Costa and Willian?

  7. That's not what I said. I think we were interested but we were also keeping our options open. There is no way we were going to buy all three of them yet we were linked to them all plus others such as Eriksen and Bernard. This shows that we were always looking at more players than we needed. We were looking at Papa and the lad at Ajax (can't recall his name) too but I'm not convinced we were ever going to buy what we wanted without seeing departures such as Coates and Skrtel. I think we just opted to boost the defence in the end as we were struggling the attract the attacking players.

We were rejected/failed in our attempt to sign our attacking targets, hence as Redconn said, "we missed our attacking targets", we didn't just decide to pull the plug on every single attacking target because we fancied a few defenders instead

  9. Again, thats not what I said, you only highlighted part of the sentence!

In a nut shell, I don't believe that we would have splashed £24m on two CB's had one of those attacking players chose to join us. The only way it would have happened is if we had managed to sell Skrtel and Coates.

Oh I see. Ok. Well thats disappointing, I was kinda hoping that we would still have that £30million lying around come january. So guess that adds to my earlier point that we've spend valuable and finite transfer money and spunked it on non bench players

  11. We might have £30m sat there waiting, I don't know. I'd guess not but, of course, i also hope I'm wrong as we need two or three players in January that will help us kick on.
