Swansea v Coventry Competition - Sky Bet Championship Venue - Swansea.com Stadium Date - 7 April 2023 Kick off - 3 pm Following their 3-2 victory in the South Wales derby at Cardiff, next up for Russell Martin’s Swansea squad is a home match against Play-Off hopefuls Coventry City. Last Saturday the Swans made yet more history against Cardiff when they secured just the second ever double in the history of the fixture - having achieved the first only last season: so a Double Double for the Swans. Joel Piroe put the Swans ahead inside three minutes before Liam Cullen headed home their second. (Per BBC Wales Today, the scorers were Joel Price and Liam Kallen ) Jaden Philogene pulled one back soon after the Swans had gone 2 up, and Sory Kaba's late header looked to have sealed a draw. However Cardiff-born Cabango swept in right at the end in the 99th minute to leave the Bluebirds deep in relegation trouble. Whilst the Swans were beating Cardiff, Stoke City brought Coventry City's nine-game unbeaten run to a shuddering stop as they crushed the Sky Blues 4-0 to dent Coventry’s hopes of reaching the play-offs. Jacob Brown tapped the ball in at the back post to put Stoke a goal up only six minutes in, before Tyrese Campbell doubled their advantage just before the break. Will Smallbone made it 3-0 midway through the second half, slotting the ball into the bottom corner before Ki-Jana Hoever capped an excellent afternoon for the Potters with a superb solo effort 13 minutes from time. Stoke, now unbeaten in five games, move up a place to 13th, while Coventry fall four points behind the top six. The Swans have played Coventry on 34 previous occasions and its honours even in the overall record, with both teams having won 12 times, and 10 draws. In the corresponding fixture last season, the Swans ran out 3-1 winners: Turning to Saturday, the Swans (and Jack Army) will be on a high after the victory over Cardiff - we must hope that the players have recovered from their celebrations - whilst Coventry will be keen to put their horror story against Stoke behind them. I think that the Swans will run out 2-1 winners - Gyokeres is certain to score for Coventry, assisted by Bidwell.
I think I prefer this one though. It has a nicer feel to it, that undefinable "something" that keeps bringing me back.
Duplicate thread or Double thread I think you did it on purpose. All right - I have now seen the reference on the real one. Sorry.
