Then he can f**k off.. Chamberlain will just take his place anyway. Who cares. Ches Sagna Kos Verm Santos/Gibbs Song Arteta Wilshere Poldolski Chamberlain Giround
If you believe a nothing 'story' in The Sun, I've got a nice plot of land on the Moon you can buy for only £1,000,000?
I havent mentioned anything about his ability or his contribution to our previous season - i just have no time for players that want out... if you understand my point. This is only on the assumption the rumours true, obviously. But he bummed persie and hes going, and he supported liverpool as a kid.. and sky have the odds as EVEN for him to go... so..
Respect that, but again ..I can't help but not want anyone in my starting line up that doesnt want to play for us, dont care how good they are (not that he is)
It started in the Sun, then other tabloids and TV stations picked up and broadcasted it as a credible story. Eventually people forget where it started and the fact there was nothing substantial behind it, and believe it.
Now choose 6 of those to be injured ( that is our average at any given time during the season) fill the gaps with squad players and that is what Arsenal will look like for most of the season.
Players only 'want out' because the complete lack of ambition shown from our board. It's about time fans stopped blaiming RVP etc.. and addressed the issue at hand.
Im still saying Walcott doesn't want out and that the Sun made it all up. Liverpool may let Carroll go + Arsenal forward with a year left on Contract = Nice headline for gullible audience

I haven't seen any reports anywhere saying that Walcott wants out. I have heard that he wants more money. I actually have more respect for Walcott keeping shut about it all and wanting to be paid the best he can for his services, more than I respect RVP for issuing statements and saying he wants to leave for trophies. Walcott is entitled to try and earn the most that he can for his work, and he has done that respectfully and hasn't caused embarrassment to the club. The club is entitled to see what he is worth and then decide if selling him is a better deal. We may be moving to a new system where Walcott will not fit in as well, who knows. I see this time of the year like a car auction in the US, with all the bidders bidding with their penises, because they want to show everybody that they have the most money and feel that they are winning the auction. The fact that they end up with a garage full of monster cars, completely impractical for going to work in, is not considered.
Unless we change to a 4-4-2 I see Walcott as central to our system. All indications are that we're phasing out the Attacking Midfielder role occupied by Fabregas and to some extent Rosicky. The purchase of Podolski indicates that we're moving this role onto the flanks. Walcott and Podolski will be our "attacking midfielders" next season; I expect both to cut inside from the wings. The central midfielders Song, Arteta and Wilshere will be slightly deeper, with Song and Arteta covering the LB and RB positions instead of Pod and Walcott. Wilshere will also be slightly deeper than the AM role. I think this is perfect because Wilshere and Arteta are both very capable in their passing and creativity, and Walcott and Podolski are both naturally good at cutting inside. It's sort of like the Bayern system. ---Song--------Arteta--- --------Wilshere--------- Walcott----------Podolski ---------Giroud----------
I agree to a certain extent. I just wonder how much better that would be if we had a slightly larger right winger, who had pace and could score with his head. Then move Wilshere back instead of Arteta, and put Ox (fully developed into our dream player) at AM. We now have 3 front men who can put themselves about, get crosses in etc.
I think Walcott is better when he's not stuck out on the wing. Even if he is slight, he will cause central defenders all sort of problems. Many people think he would be good as a striker, well, in the 4-3-3 that I'm talking about, he'll be as close to this as is feasible (given his size). I don't see the Ox as ready yet, he needs one more season on the periphery before any talk of a regular first team place. You're right though, once Ox is ready to be an AM, it may be time for Walcott to be replaced by someone who can naturally play as a winger without getting phased out of the game.
I think we do really well against the top teams with Walcott and RVP. However for the other 12-15 sides, Walcott hasn't any chance of getting in behind them, least of all through the middle, and RVP isn't an imposing enough target. For at least 24 games a season Giroud and Podolski are going to be better than Walcott and RVP, in my opinion.
