I'd hate to see what sort of shortlist would come up to take over. Would rather we went with a young upcoming manager rather than a has been though. Stay well clear of Hughes and McLeish! (and Rodgers)
It got mentioned on our board by our illustrious leader BrixtonR that there's some merit in bringing through players to be future managers. Dare I mention your rivals success in the 70s and 80s with such a system... Do you have any backroom staff that know the club through and through? It makes the transition a lot easier and keeps the fans onside too. Certainly, with the lingering rumour of Moyes being SAF's replacement (my Everton supporting best mate seems convinced of this) there's been a significant amount of time for candidates to be identified. I hope for your sakes that the frantic gum chewing purple one hangs around and you can keep Moyes for a few years yet.
I don't think there'd be much room for prima donnas if any of those in charge (especially Big Dunc). I don't know why but Weir would get my vote - seems the quieter (from what I've seen) of the three but I just reckon there's a bit there. You were right about Hughes BTW. He needs to rebuild his reputation. Don't necessarily think he's an awful manager (puts my into a minority of one on our board) but he started to doubt himself which, to such a self-assured man, is a disaster.
I remember that happening before with a certain Mike Walker, didnt work out to well as i recall.Dont think Chrissy is going anywhere just yet!
David Weir would be my choice if we chose internally. Hes always been the quiet unassuming type but with an air of real authority and knowledge. Moysey is going to go eventually, and my personal choice would be Roberto Martinez.Gets the very best of average players and on a shoestring budget. He likes his teams to play good passing football, and is the main reason why Swansea have developed into a very handy footballing team, (not that shyster Rodgers.)
Doubt Moyes will leave until SAF does, and then only if he gets the Utd job. I reckon he'd only move to another English club once he knows someone else has the Utd job.
Not sure, I could see him being a popular choice with Kenwright though. Continuously works on a small budget. For me though, he doesn't seem to be improving Wigan that much.
