I've been watching the Hearts V Hibs, Scottish Cup Final this afternoon and once again Ian Black of Hearts stood out for me. He's a midfield player who would be an ideal replacement for Clayton. He has a temper and this would need to be worked on, but he's a special player with good technical ability and a great work rate. His contract has now ended with Hearts, and to day was his last game for them, so there would be no transfer fee to bring him in and I'm sure the wage structure at Leeds would be within Black's salary.
Never heard of him (which is usually a good thing!), possibly well worth a punt. Keep em coming Boab.
I watched him whilst in Edinburgh 2 weeks ago versus St Johnstone. Good control and likes to put his foot on the ball. Similar player but a lower level to Scot Parker. Defo worth a punt on a freebie
Amazing that Rudy Skacel was rated as the most talented player on the pitch, and he couldn't cut it at Plymouth!!
Rudi Skacel has been brilliant for Hearts on both of the periods he has played for them, they appear to be his club and play to his strengths. Many players are suited to certain styles of football, Beckford was not suited to the style of Everton and appears to like the long ball style some Championship clubs use. Skacel isn't a player I would recommend to Leeds, as he isn't any better than what we already have at the club, however Black is a very talented player who needs discipline by a manager who knows how to handle him, I would suggest Warnock might be that manager.
For me its Black & White... Brown wants too many Greens to stay.... Green's injuries should be taken as read, and he should be avoided. That said the chances of White seem decidedly Grey, which makes me feel Blue...
Not from another board! As a peace offering, have Michael Gray and Danny Rose for the Leeds Colours XI.
i agree with you boab, he would be agood signing. i think mark wilson from celtic would be decent also.
