Currently a free agent, we could do a lot worse than bring him back to the club in some sort of advisary, motivational, kick ass role.

It was a utter disgrace how they treated him. If there was ever a player in our history who deserved a testimonal then it was Ian Ashbee. The guy was a legend. Okay he would have only probably been a squad player this season but who cares. Whoever was behind this decision (Nigel Pearson, Adam Pearson ??) should hang their heads in shame.

I saw Ash in Hull City centre on Thursday night walking down Dock Street with a geezer I didn't recognise, just at the back of the BBC building and by Rugby Tavern. It didn't look like he was going into either. Maybe he was heading for the casino.

Im the biggest Ash fan ever and he usurped Rambo Billy as my favourite playre ever but let's not forget he handed in a transfer request. Even if we hadnt offered him a new contract at the end of the season, I'm sure he'd have got a testimonial.

It really is a tragedy what happened and he shouldve had a job with us for life.

He has a job in Hull, that's why. His knee/injuries have caught up with him. I agree he should be given a testimonial and a role within the club.

There's no doubt that Ash was a Hull City legend, possibly the most important player in our history, but his departure was very much a two way street and Ash blames no-one but himself for the way things ended up. He'll be officially recognised at some point and rightly so, but I'm not sure he's actually looking to play again, considering the health problems he had it was a miracle he lasted as long as he did and I don't think there's anything left in the tank(in other words, his knee is ****ed).

To me he could be like Keith Curle was under Colin Wan**r... if Colin couldn't give them a good boll**king then Curle would just have a right paddy at his players. I think we need Ash's passion with these young players to be honest, a kick up the arse.

Ian Ashbee was in Pave last night.

He was never the slimmest, but he's what I'd call 'portly' now.

He was having a booze up.

I'd rather see Deano back in some advisary, motivational, kick-ass role. Mainly with our so called strikers

Ash should come back as a coach. He deserves some recognition. Barmby needs to stop being such a stuck up whiny midget and accept criticism/advice.

Ash has hung his boots up. He said he has had enough of football (playing).

As someone said he works in Hull now, for blowers. I was chatting to him about it the other day.

When I first saw this thread, for some reason I expected to see a big picture of Ash sporting a pair of black thongs, stockings, spendies and one of them peephole bras!

Actually, that begs the question why I opened the thread?? Help!

Nobody was suggesting bringing him back as a player ( At least I hope they weren't ) his knee is ****ed or is it both knees ?

Also , Barmby and Ashbee are not mates , and what role would anybody suggest for him at the club ? I don't think 'kicking arse' is really a job and does anybody know if he even has any interest in a job in football , he seems to have other interests and sources of income

The way he left the club is down to Ashbee , I think he will regret it if he doesn't already , but thats life , we all get some things wrong

Yes he is an absolute legend of Hull City , I just think it will be longer before that is really recognised

I wasn't going to list where he works! But that's correct.
