I wonder what the percentage of posts from a certain member of our contingent are just copied and pasted links from tabloid newspapers...?
Nice to have them on the same site...I'm always grateful when someone posts them. I try and do it when I can as well.
I think most of those stories get posted more as topics for discussion, not as actual news items. It's in the vein of "Here's what people are saying about Saints," instead of "Here's what is happening at Saints." I don't mind it. I'm less interested in what the papers are saying than most, but the posts still lead to some interesting comments and debate.
I routinely visit the News Now website which I have set up to report all Saints related stories. I go through the list carefully only opening those that have come from a reputable newspaper. I skip past the bloggers and all of the tabloids. The bloggers regurgitate the same crap made up by the tabloids. So for reliable news I visit the Saints official website and of course not606. Ever since I have adopted this policy I seem no longer to worry about the Saints. It is easy and has done wonders for my blood pressure. PS and I watch match of the Day with the sound off.
You don't actually have to look. As Godders has learned that if you just bookmark Southampton FC's entry in NewsNow you can find 99% of every article about Saints that there is. The only ones you'll miss are ones that are about Saints but don't actually mention them. Which is next to none, so that 99% could easily be 100%. So bookmark this [add to Favourites] now and never have to wait for someone to post some news of Saints again. http://www.newsnow.co.uk/h/Sport/Football/Premier League/Southampton
Strewth........surely this is not a complaint about being kept informed of what the papers are saying is it? Is this or is this not a discussion forum? When someone posts a link to a newspaper article it is up to you if you want to open that link and then discuss the article! There is no law to say you have to open it or join in the discussions. To be fair this forum would be a bit boring without them although no doubt we would survive. Like most things it is a question of choice and opinions which makes this forum the more interesting........
Yes, perhaps I should have written... ...and never have to wait for anyone like DTLW to make valiant efforts to bring you the latest Saints news. Unless you want to..!
I never miss reading this forum and usually visit at least twice a day. How could I not bother? I would miss the interesting and informed comments and the gentle humour.
