It was the feeling that we had the best player in the world - and he was for at least 3 or 4 years, at our club. It was the goals he scored against United in 2000, Madrid in 2005 and United again in 2007. Goals that came when it mattered. And it was the feeling you got when he came onto the pitch. It was like 'yeah, this game is ours' Maybe Van Persie could have been as good as him if it wasn't for the injuries. Nevertheless, you gotta love King Henry.
I understand your sentiment... and I keep thinking back to the success we had in the past. I guess we have to move on, in the light of yet another world class player leaving, one can't help but feel this is a defining season for Wenger.
Yeah I miss that whole team really but Henry the most. The great thing about having Henry in the team is that you always felt you had a chance. What I really miss from 2003-2004 though is the way we played. Perhaps not as technical in style as the current team but we played with soo much pace and power. I miss that days where we would wipe the floor with teams in 15-20 Mins then spend the rest of the match casually passing the ball around. We NEVER look safe anymore even if we're two goals up.
Couldnt agree more......and when we missed a goal - they just laughed thinking how did that happen! Oh well, doesnt matter Never forget that display down portsmouth where we drubbed them something like 6-0, and even their fans were clapping us off the pitch! Those were the days!
