Alexander Pieter Cirk, 41, recently flew from Holland to Hunan province in the hope of meeting his online girlfriend, a Chinese woman known only as Zhang. But he ended up spending 10 days waiting at Changsha airport, after she failed to show up. He decided to fly to visit her, but when he got to Hunan found no-one had come to meet him. He refused to leave the airport for the next 10 days, and was eventually taken to hospital suffering physical exhaustion, according to reports by Hunan TV. Ms Zhang contacted the TV channel a day after the report aired to give her side, saying that she had thought it had all been a joke. "We had advanced our romantic relationship but later he seemed a little callous towards me," Ms Zhang told Hunan TV. "One day he sent me a photo of air tickets abruptly and I thought it was a joke. He didn't contact me later." Ms Zhang also added that by the time Mr Cirk arrived at the airport, she was away having plastic surgery in another province and had turned off her phone. I read this article yesterday, and on the one hand I feel sorry for him given he's probably not the brightest button in the box, on the other hand you kinda have to think at some point he stopped, or someone stopped him and asked what the yeck he was doing.

He was definitely a character. But he never knew when to let go of an argument, and frequently went out of his way to push people's buttons. I miss the good he brought to the board, but it was frequently outweighed by the bad sadly.

Swords had a talent for spotting the other posters that he'd get a rise from and those that he wouldn't. He'd prod a few times and on an occasional basis, but if he didn't get your red mist descending he'd quickly move on to easier targets. By easier targets I am by no means criticising the different ways different posters responded to him. We're all...different. On balance I kinda miss him.
I miss Swords too. We had many a crossed word, but on balance, we need posters like him, especially if you are a self opinionated bastard like me!!!
Swords broke the rules way to many times and was banned many times. I had no problem with him but it was my good mate QPR999 who gave up many of his hours having to sort out the trail of sh!t that swords often created. If Swords was still a member then I'm sure 9's would have gone away from this forum a long time back. Anyone like me who has had the pleasure of meeting 9's would agree he is one of the soundest blokes you could meet, and more QPR than I could ever be. I take my hat off to Mr 9's for playing a huge part in making this imo the best QPR forum on the net.
You are right UTR's 100%, nines and co shouldn't have to deal with that sort of ****. There was a time when posters became bigger than the board and a lot of people didn't like it. It is very funny though looking back on some of those threads. You're also right that nines is a lovely bloke.
I came across him sometime back on an Irish forum, YBIG I think, although I'm not sure, he was beavering away trying to get a rise out of some people there but to no avail, they were just ignoring him. Maybe he's still at it, who knows.
I never had a problem with Swords and always liked his anti-Chelsea stuff. Back in the day (before i got banned from the scum board) we would go on there and rip them to pieces. However i believe he pushed the mods to the limit.
