Remember the good old days and there was footie the following day, favourite was Charlie scoring at Ibrox in a 2-1 win , worst 2-0 down after 10 mins in a 4-2 defeat to them , a few mars bars were thrown at the directors . The wonders of New Year's Day football . I am not old enough but they used to play on Christmas Day as well .

Rebelboy is still using his role with the Celtic forum to promote his political aims.

Agree entirely with reb on that. I spent lady night sat on my own outside drinking gin. Went to bed at 1152. great new years eve.

What is alarming is all this talk about new year, screams of obsession...

New year in these parts of the world was for decades celebrated mostly by Scottish
Folk. I think that tradition should be maintained with the house parties and first
Footing and other traditions revived and maintained. When I was young in the part
Of Ireland I was from it was New Years night we went out. When I went to Scotland
At 19 or 20 I saw a big difference in the Scottish Celebrations from the Irish. We should
    not commercialism destroy our lives.
