Luke Hyam is reportedly on a measly £650 per week ahead of his contract negotiations!

Wolves and Leeds are said to be interested in taking him if the new contract negotiations stall. Surely this is another sign (if we needed it) that Jewell just does not rate Luke at all. When will these clowns actually learn a valuable lesson from our history and actually begin to nuture and reward our youngsters?

If we lose Hyam because we aren't prepared to pay him properly I will be ****ing livid! How much do you think he is worth considering that we were paying that tosser Bullard over £15k per week!

I have to say when I read that I took a double take, he has to be worth around at least 4 times that surely. Another wage negotiation for clegg/jewell to **** up..!

The excuse of keeping the young players hungry does not really wash with me, he has been established in our first team squad for well over a season now, he should have been offered a wage to reflect that...

You're either being ironic or trolling your own board, I'm not sure which...

All it would take is an offer of regular first team football and a small wage rise and Hyam could be off. Imagine how he feels when he thinks he's made it into the team just to see players brought in on loan to replace him (Luongo/N'Daw)

I can see another Trotter or Garvan situation happening.

I think people would be surprised by the wages at our club. The biggest drain is Clegg's £2m a year salary.

If Jewell's philosophy is to not give players like Hyam "too much too soon", in order to "keep them hungry", I'm assuming that the clown himself is voluntarily on minimum wage...

    It would make perfect sense!

If we don't see 2 decent Centre Backs through the door within the next 2 weeks he can pack his ****ing bags! <ok> The rumour is that we are getting Matthew Upson on a 93 day loan! And there's me thinking that Jewell wanted to get away from short term loan deals.

Not the ideal situation JWM, but if it means shipping less goals then it's worth having a decent CB to take us up to the next transfer window, where of course, we will fail to buy one and loan another for the second half of the season. <laugh>

But will it San Diego? Matthew Upson is hardly in the first flush of youth and if he was that good form why isn't he getting a game at Stoke! We are back to sticking plasters again! This is no way to run a football club FFS

Upson may be a good shout as any, in the short term at least.
It is clear that we are on a very strict transfer & wage budget, as much as I don't like it I do understand why, as I am sure everyone else does as well.

Other clubs are clearly still not living within their means, a risky gamble that will only come off for 3 clubs this season.
ME for me has got jewell's card marked, unless he gets us in and around the play offs this season he will be off..He is not giving him that much money to play with so I think he is running out of patience with jewell as well..

Hoppers it is very risky gamble because without quality players coming in we will be relegated as simple as that!

The parachute payments have totally ****ed us anyway so it is getting even harder just to stay in this division!

Would we make more from winning league one and promotion than what we get from finishing 15th in the championship?
