    Does anybody even care?

For what it's worth, if I were in charge I would see it as a good chance to try things out, different formation, give youth a chance but I can only imagine Jewell playing the same OAPs he plays in the league.

    Jewells team:

    ALB
    Edwards Sonko Delaney Cresswell
    Martin Kennedy Leadbitter Murphy
    Scotland Chopra

Probably the worst midfield four in the history of our club, with one of the worst centre backs behind it.

    My team:

    ALB
    Edwards Sonko Whight Cresswell
    Hyam Kennedy
    Carson JET Martin
    Murray

Whight's a good footballer for a defender and from what I've seen would do ok as long as he had some experience around him (Sonko and Kennedy). He reminded me of a left footed Sergio Ramos when watching him in the youth cup, although I don't think he'll turn out to be as good.

I hope we get smashed 7-0 then perhaps Clogg will have reached his tipping point!

I honestly dont know how anyone can want there club to get humiliated. Surely, unless you have a personal hatred of PJ, then you should want us to get back to winning ways and stay there. No matter how much I hated RK, I would have prefered us to have success under him then flounder and it looks like its going to take a lot more than a change of manager to sort us out.
Onto the point, Christ, I have no idea but for me
ALB, Cresswell, Drury, Carson, Murphy (i cant believe I have said that) and Scotland have done well enough to start
Peters and Hyam deserve a go and I would possibly consider Smith as well.
Edwards, Delaney, Ingi, the captain and Chopra should not be seen in the first team squad at present.
JET can place if someone sticks a round of **** into him and tells him to play for 88 minutes a game and not just 2.
Martin needs an end product and learn to take players on.

after that I am really struggling. Cant say I have seen any of the youngsters in the squad but if we have any give them the place over the twats we currently have in the first team. Its a very bad state when you cant even name a half decent first team out of your players.

Bollocks, ok in that case lets have a draw for the last starting place. Any one of us has got to be better than Leadtwat!

Yet another Jewell cock up in allowing Drury to be cup tied <ok>

I wonder if Warky will put his boots on? He is about the right age afterall

I think the team I'd go for would be:

    ALB
    Ainsley, Ingimarsson, Smith, Kennedy/Whight
    Martin/Peters, Hyam, Bullard(if fit)/Lawrence/Kennedy, Carson
    JET, Ellington

Reasoning behind this team is just leave ALB in, he's doing ok for the time being. Bring Ainsley in to give him some game time and give edwards a rest. Play Ingimarson as he needs match fitness even though I hope we won't need to use him much in the future. Play Smith because I don't want Delaney anywhere near the team in whatever competition and it is important to keep Sonko fit for the league, so don't want to risk him getting injured.

I'd rest Cresswell as he looked jaded in the last match, so may do him good and either give Whight a chance or Kennedy to get a bit of experience and leadership at the back.

Couldn't decide between Martin and Peters, Martin has been playing ok and works his socks off, so may decide to rest him and give Peters a try. Give Hyam a chance and also maybe try to give Bullard some game time if he's fit.

Upfront JET has played ok in he past few matches so keep him in to give him a bit of a run in the team. Chopra looks out of form atm and needs to work his way back into the team. Ellington actually showed some decent touches when he came on on monday so may be worth giving him a try.

PTC, agree with what your saying BUT
Ingi - has been a good player but can not run or jump which equals us getting done over
Martin - works hard but I am yet to see him put in any telling forward passes. he runs down the line, stop and then pass backwards. I must have screamed 'cross it' 4 billion times at him this season alone
JET - does nothing, and I mean nothing, for 75% of the game. Doesnt make an effort to win the ball, doesnt have awareness when on the ball, doesnt mark. He is possibly the laziest player I have ever seen. He will probably come up with a moment of magic in the over 25% of the game but we cant carry him on the off chance of a decent opening

tractorbhoy if we could somehow could merge Delaney and Ingimarson together through scientific experiment we might have a good defender as Delaney can jump and run but not much else.

I agree that both JET and Martin can be frustrating but I've definitely seen an improvement in them since they first came to the club. Like most wingers or luxury players sometimes they're going to go missng from games or appear lazy or lack the ability to make the right decisions but they have definitely improved and both have great potential to be very good players for this club. Which is particularly amazing in terms of Martin as I don't usualy change my opinion of a player.

Would be a good idea to play all reserves, as long as Hull do not do the same, then we would see just how good these people are. Cup ties have been downgraded over the years, and in our case we have a relegation battle to fight, we need our first team players fresh, allthough to be honest it does not seem to make much difference to our results. Not really interested in this match, do not go to any cup matches, and for that reason I'm out.

    Likewise !

Give a few players a chance in this game, maybe Peters one final shot, Carson HAS to play, Lawrence, I'd like to see Hyam involved etc.

Forgot about Lawrence, might be a good shout although then again it might destroy his confidence if we're beaten heavily, which is looking likely.

Was having a simillar conversation with a mate of mine whilst our boys were training with Brantham tonight, with regard to a 4-2-3-1 line up, if fit I would go with Bullard in place of JET, other than that I think this line up might help protect our back four a little more but still give us some bite going forward, surely anything is worth a punt rather than the dross Jewell would go for..?

I think going 3 at the back would give as more protection, Delaney can beat anybody in the air as can Sonks, and Ingi for all his faults can read a game pretty well so if he was played as a sweeper it would clear up anything missed. Edwards & Cressy can play as wing backs and with JET just behind the front 2 he can drift about as much as he likes to find space.

Hi Tractor boys. Looking forward to the game on Saturday & like you, hoping our management try a few different ideas out given our recent dip in form. Given you have a few ex Hull guys in your team and also one James R Bullard - do you think he will get a run out against us? Is he fit? Be interested in your views on him at Ipswich - he will definately get a few panto booos if he is playing on Saturday. Shame as despite the off field antics and how it ended up at Hull with him he is a very talented footballer who, on his day, is an exciting player to watch - unfortunately those days are few and far between!

Be interested to know how many you are bringing?

Lets hopw for some goals on Saturday - god know we need to hit the onion bag a few times to show we haven't forgotton where it is!

    Hi Goldentruetiger,

Jimmy has been hit and miss this season (more miss) due to mainly being played in a deep midfield role for some unknown reason. Word on the street is he is out saturday due to the Flu and we are desperately short of midfielders at the moment. But don't worry i'm sure there will be plenty of goals as Donkey Delaney is a sure starter to give you a hand!
