Not the best time to be supporting the Allams but doesnt this highlight how they wanted to do a deal on the KC but the Council, Bayes and ****wit had no intention of it happening.

Beggars belief that only a few years back, talk was of increasing capacity and building an upper tier in the E stand.
Now we can barely fill 2/3 of our existing capacity and are doing our best to make it more difficult to watch games.

Yeah its a strange placevis Hull.
People seem to lose interest quite easily
The place was too small when we 1st got in the Prem but the novelty has worn off for quite a few.
Theres other various reasons but i dont think extending the stadium will ever be on the cards

Sadly, some let themselves get sucked in to the claims that everything was the fault of the Allam's, so others lost sight of the other issues occurring.

    Yeah i agree.
Not everythings their fault although they dont help.
A large dose of apathy exists i dont even think we will sell out our allocation if we get to the play off final.

    This is key.
People in this city are fickle and over generations have got used to switching allegiances as soon as one team or sport goes in the doldrums.
That's why it's so important to work hard to keep loyalty and build rapport with the fans.

Sadly, you've used the Allam issues as a means to have a dig elsewhere. I don't recall anyone, ever, not even once, claiming everything was (or is) the fault of the Allams.

All we need now is to hear that the Ferens Art Gallery is behind schedule and will not be ready for 2017 to make this city and the City of Culture the total laughing stock of the Western World. The muppets have had two years to prepare for this.

Didn't think the theatre was a top priority, if I remember it wasn't that long since it was renovated. I take the kids to the panto each crimbo when we are back home and it doesn't seem to be in bad nick. The events guide for the coming year always seems to be full of varied types of show.

The origional plan to close it for over a year ( the delay will mean its near to two ) so they could raise the roof of the back stage area thereby being able to attract bigger shows sounds like a questionable thing to do a year before the City of culture starts.

Work starts on major facelift for Hull New Theatre

please log in to view this image

Work has started on stripping out Hull's New Theatre ahead of a major £15.9m facelift scheme.

Contractors from Esteem consortium began on site this week after the city council signed off an early works agreement ahead of the main contract for the refurbishment project being confirmed.

The initial agreement covers almost £700,000 worth of work. It will include:

    • Installation of earthworks to support the theatre's main eastern elevation.
    • The removal and storage of seating from the theatre's upper circle.
    • Decommissioning and removing the building's conditioning system.
    • Disconnecting the main utility services.
    • Diverting drainage pipes.
    • Removing asbestos.
    • Taking down staircases and non-loadbearing walls.

Geraghty's making a knob of himself again...

"York will not be a patch on Hull. We will become 'the' key city in Yorkshire, ahead of York, Leeds or Sheffield.

"York has The Shambles but that's about it. Look at all things we've got in our city.

"Visitors to this city tell me things like 'Where has Hull been hiding all these years?'.

"Look at what is happening. We have a lot to be proud of. Hull is becoming an absolute gem and it's only going to get better heading into our year as City of Culture."

I'm all for bigging up the city, but you don't have come out with nonsense like this to do it.

Hull wont become key until it gets the high-level jobs. You can build as many shiny new things as you want but it means nothing if local people still earn comparatively poorly. Siemens is obviously a great boost but it needs more.

York has the shambles, because they were too poor at the time to replace the buildings, unlike the then prosperous Hull, that used its wealth to clear the slums of the time.

This Geraghty f***wit should be sectioned to a care home or kidnapped before the 2017 build up and all media instructed to only seek quotes from the wonderful Rosie Millard.
