I thought the derby was quite good last season.

Summers approaching. I need something to watch during the close season. That and the cricket.

They shouldn't be using the City mailing list for non-City promotions, they started sending all Premier Club members Hull FC weekly emails as soon as AP took over.

I told them to do one.

Possibly, but it would depend on what you agreed to them using your details for when you signed up

Indeed. Alas i shall be watching from the comfort of my sofa Prior to the even bigger game betweem READING v. TWS.

Come on you Royals. Get 2 birds(tws + hammers) with one stone. As for egg chasing, what a waste iof time that sport has become. No promotion or relegation for starters. <doh> :emoticon-0119-puke:

Even the league sponsor Eddie Stobart has not put a penny into the sport. ffs.

Isn't it because they share the same ticketing system ? Somebody probably pressed the wrong button , or Adam told them to press the wrong button because he needs us City fans to buy his eggchasing tickets as they haven't got enough fans of their own

I wonder if any JLS fans will want to see the biggest derby in the world ?

I might actually watch this tomorrow, signed up to Sky for a couple of months to watch the end of the footy season big games. Hopefully there will be a few scraps to liven things up a bit. Didn't get an e-mail myself.

I got the mail shot last week, given the crap we've been served up by City these past few weeks I thought ''fuk it why not'' took my lad who'd never seen a rugby game (I've only been one on a corporate freebee) and a couple of mates with thier sons and we had a fantastic day.

Decided to support FC, since we are from west of Hull, entertaining game some gratre trys, effort and great atmoshere, better than I've seen at a City game for months.

Could even drink whilst watching the game, so two pints each half, with really vocerfous and supportive FC fans made for a great day out. I'll be going again and would recommend anyone who's not been to go to a Hull Derby, well worth the entry fee. Thanks Adam :)

Considering 'its the biggest derby in the world with generations of bitter rivalry separated only by a river' would you not expect a better atmosphere than City vs Cov? I'd personally question why there were SIX THOUSAND (count 'em) empty seats when with a victory the home side would become the best in the country at that time?

    Its a rugby town.

and as a leeds lad now, what's the word on the the bradord situation this morning locally? are they bust or has there been a miraculous last minute reprieve which of course 'no one was expecting' - were we?

for sports sake, the sooner a bradford northern or portsmouth goes bust, the better!!!!!

Havent got a clue, Ive no interest in rugby. It just royally p155es me off when the HDM and HUmberside hype the derby to oblivion and fans of both egg chasing clubs still proclaim it a rugby town (sic) despite every single bit of evidence you could ever consider suggesting to the contrary.

well you seem like a journo type, so i reckon you are being a little naive if you ignore who reads the hull daily mail and who listens to radio 'umbersard. they simply have to play to their readership/listenership to stay in business. i think its a pity that yorkshire post and sutty dont do more to satisfy the 'grown-up', higher IQ minority in the hull area. they d be more affluent and bound to attract bigger advertising revenues for that market

18979 rugby fans in the town this weekend.

    17279 football fans last weekend.

Apart from that piece you mean?

Hull FC became the best team in the country after winning. Rovers have been in the top 10 of the country for the last few years. Care to take a guess at what sort of crowds City would be pulling in should they be in such a position? Call me a glass half full type but I cant see there being 6 thousand empty seats.

I watched a replay of the game on Pay TV here and the Promo for the match stated " This is the Red and White, Black and White Derby clash between the two Super League clubs from English Rugby Town Hull!"

My team lost but I spotted one of my extended family in a close-up crowd shot during the match.

Here is my two penneth on the matter although I am a Hull City fan I also follow the rugby too.

Out of the two I would honestly have to say that rugby league is consistently more entertaining also it's not full of complete foreign nancy girls rolling around as though they have been shot by a howitzer gun.

In rugby league they don't feign that they have been punched in the head, they have just been punched in the head and they then do not throw themselves to the floor and roll around like complete sissies they throw a punch back.

This type of behaviour is totally not acceptable in football and winds me up you don't get this in rugby league.
