I'm sure we are going to take some flak, i agree with you both. The beautiful game is over, gone, although it may be found in the lower leagues.
In my very first post on here i said i now follow Hull City i did my supporting of the club in the 70's and 80's . I had a great time at both home and away games with a small group of people whose names i did'nt even know. Kids and men from all over the town who only came together for City, sometimes when in pubs in town with my non City supporting mates i would recognise a face from bunkers and just say hi or a thumbs up, who's that? no idea but i know i will see him next Saturday.
I left the UK 20 years ago and each time i come home i consider going to a game but don't. All seater stadium, allocated seats, police videoing everyone, not being able to walk up and pay at the gate, risk of being arrested for offensive language or jestures. I take my hat off to all of you who put up with it all to go and see City play.

Today my mate saw a caravan being towed, with Hull City flags on the side windows. He was so excited he rang me to tell me. He actually felt that he should flag (forgive the pun) it down and say "Hi". Bearing in mind that this is 250 miles from Hull, you have to let him off a little. My point is this. He did not have a clue if the people in the car voted for or against the name change, or if they feel that Assem Allam should be knighted. All that mattered is that they were proud enough of Hull City to have flags on their caravan.

A Hull City supporter is just that and nothing more or less should count.

It all comes down to us all wanting to have a team that wins, and that is why some say being in the championship is better than being in the EPL. But to progress you have to reach the top, but when you do you can't expect instant success, it has to be built, and that is what SB is trying and so far has been successful in doing. I have been supporting City since 1958 and have been through all the good times and mainly bad times, but now I am really enjoying where the club is just now. However I draw the line at changing the clubs identity, as that is in my eyes sacrosanct.
