Afternoon folks, just gonna make this short and sweet.

Are Hull City, Man United's secret feeder club? I mean we've signed Cam Stewart, James Chester, Joe Budgeon and soon to sign Corry Evans not to mention in the past we loaned Manucho and Frazier Campbell from you guys

    Clearly we are.

With the superstars you have taken off us ( we stood no chance of keeping them at our poxy club ) its no surprise your PL champions and playing in the CL final in a matter of weeks is it.

Now just imagine if United had managed to keep hold of these world class stars.

I dunno about feeder club. Feeder club implies that, like Royal Antwerp, we'd be bringing our most talented young players in to Hull with the aim of getting them experience before they go on to the first team.

But, with no offence to Hull intended, the quality of players you guys get are nowhere near the quality that we send to Antwerp. Antwerp got Jonny Evans, John O'Shea and Darron Gibson, who all went on to the first team squad, as well as players like Cathcart, Shawcross, Higginbotham and Dong who were all seen as strong prospects. Stewart, Chester, Dudgeon and Corry Evans were all loaned to Hull at a point when, imo, the club were 90% sure they weren't going to make the 1st team and just wanted to get them some first team games so we could sell them for as much as possible. Even Campbell and Manucho, who were initially seen as decent prospects for us, only went to Hull after they had failed to impress at other clubs.

So I'd say whilst there is definitely some sort of partnership between the two, Hull is more of an overflow club for us than a feeder club. They're almost a shop window for us to try and make some cash out of the academy players who won't make it. That said, I'm sure Hull do pretty well out of it. After all, just missing out on the Utd squad is hardly a major blot on a young player's career. I think around 50% of Premier League clubs have a former Utd youth player in their first team squad, so Hull are in good company <ok>

Didn't we use Hull in some kind of weird agreement when regarding De Laet, he signed for Hull and then came to us without ever being in Hulls first team, a deal that was all agreed in advance.

I think we definitely have some kind of an agreement with Hull written or not, but I don't think you're a feeder club. It's probably just more of a good relationship thing where-by deals between the two clubs are done swiftly with minnimum fuss. Maybe we offer players from our reserve team squad to Hull first or something like that.

Yeah, it was Stoke. He went from Royal Antwerp to Stoke, and then on to Utd 18 months later. Not sure if that was all one big deal, but it is quite odd that he went from Antwerp to Stoke and then Utd, what with Antwerp being our main feeder club.
