Haven't seen Masky for about a week now - hope he's OK.

As it's Monday pm already, I'll stick this up to serve as the matchday thread for Hull on Wednesday.

Once again, if Masky posts a matchday thread, I'll merge them. Until then, post your thoughts for the game on here. <ok>

As he's now got off the mark, Collins and Moore to start as a pair in a 5-3-2?

Nah, pleased Collns got off the mark but Moore has to start with either Harris or Davies alongside him to give some pace.

I've been a critic of Collins. Since he got off to a good start pre-season, he's tried hard but to no avail. Nothing's gone right for him and he has missed a few "easy" chances in front of goal up till now - but I wonder?

The guy is a proven scorer in the past and now with the monkey off his back could push on from there.

Davies and Harris are quicker agreed, but there's a case for bringing them on with 20 to go against a tiring defence rather than starting them from scratch.

Collins is probably going to be another example of a player being able to demonstrate real worth under a manager that wants to adopt a modern philosophy. I think we can say without fear of much contradiction, that we have let players go that looked useless for us at the time of departure but would probably do a lot better under the new regime.

So this is a big game on Wednesday. Apart from the obvious importance of winning against fellow strugglers, it's also a quick opportunity to build some momentum following the second half at Deepdale. In addition. it's the chance for a hopefully bumper home crowd to show their support for the new managment team and to continue the euphoria from the Wales/Belgium game. Just for the moment, football is good again - well, bits of it anyway.

As an aside, can someone please clarify that if a Swansea born person moves to Hull they then become a Humber Jack?

One of Davies or Harris should start.

Collins bench unless Moore is still out.

About the same as us keeping a clean sheet.

Statistically they've both got to happen sooner or later. Musnt they?

Our lack of a first half goal was mentioned on EFL on the weekend.

My early memories of playing Hull are we battered them 6-0 and 5-1 in the Scoular era.
Think one of those is on line somewhere.

Some personal affinity towards Hull having worked there for a couple of years - albeit that was in the Boothferry Park era. Looking back now, if you thought Ninian park was a bit ramshackle in th 80's, that place seemed to be falling apart - but great times.

Stadiums have changed since then, but I don't think real fans have. Made some good mates up there nearly 40 years ago and have a soft spot for them as a club and supporters - but not on Wednesday.

If we do that they'll probably lose the next one. :emoticon-0105-wink:

Definite food for thought clingo - I'll have a look at it and try to retrieve the old results....<ok>

Hull don't seem to concede many, but don't score many either - in fact that's their big problem. Wonder how they'll do against us.

Of the bottom 10 clubs only Derby have conceded fewer goals. Our goals against column makes abysmal reading - we need to change that. Just hope Hudson can tighten it up to stop our recent "preventable" goals. There's been far too many of those, but you'll always get the wonder strikes like Mowatt's for West Brom.

Tend to think this game would be a battle of attrition between defences, but the secret has to be getting the better of Hull going forward. I think they'll come to keep us out rather than win it. It's down to Morison and Co to put a side out with a plan to win this, not try like McCarthy to make sure the opposition doesn't.

This is 3 points I'd be very dissappointed not to get.
