Rather bored at work and came across a couple of local players have been making good careers for themselves. Shame the didn't stay in the area as youngsters as I'm sure they would have made and impression here. Peter Pawlett at Aberdeen got a call up to the Scotland national squad. Luke Brattan at Brisbane Roar looks close to being called up to the Aussie national team, had trails with Brighton over the summer and scored an injury time winner to see Brisbane become A-League premiers. Anyone know anything about these guys or any other local players doing well? Maybe not PL quality but wouldn't it be great if the club offered them a trail at some point?
I sort of meant players who hadn't really been associated with the club. IMO Cooper should still be at the club.
If memory serves me right i'm sure I read he didn't want to come here when we was linked to him. Sorry, no links to back it up. If i'm right then screw him if he's clubless now, we're not a charity.
Think Alukos a mate of Pawlett from their time together at Aberdeen and also believe he's from a family of big City fans.
They're good mates, they're usually speaking on Twitter. He turned us down when he was at TWS, they were probably offering him more money so I can't blame him.
Graham Hockless, free agent, was at Port Melbourne Sharks last season and Steve Burton, also a free agent who last played for Ostersunds FK (although he did play a few games for us). Scraping the barrel it's fair to say.
Not strictly a free agent. Sign have signed him up as a pundit and co-commentator on their Football League coverage.
Doesn't play anymore, but the fantastically surnamed ex-Reading player Wayne ****lyn was born in Hull.
Pearson also played for us. I saw him get sent off at Hillsborough for calling the linesman an onion. I think that was also the game Peter Swan returned for Wednesday following his lengthy suspension for bribery.
According to Wikipedia, Pearson's sending off led to newspaper headline of "Onion Stu lands City in a pickle."
