Queens Park Rangers manager Mark Hughes did not take charge of his side's training session today as speculation over his future at the club increased this afternoon.

Instead, the Welshmen held a two-hour meeting with chief executive Philip Beard, according to Sky Sports News.

The content of those discussions is not known, although it is believed that the team's recent performances were high up on the agenda.

The R's are currently bottom of the Premier League table and are without a victory so far this season.

As a result, reports have claimed that Hughes could lose his job by the end of this week.

My assumption is that he was sacked in the meeting and they will speak to Harry now and announce his sacking at a later date.

Phil Beard's a winner in his field... Wouldn't fancy Hughes' chances if Beard thinks his rep's on the line.

They probably offered him a way out, ie resign without a payoff or maybe a small payoff or hes going to be sacked and he will never work again as they will only continue to pay his monthly wage. Not pay the whole thing off. No one will hire him in 18 months time when his contract expires.

Of course it could be something else but hes gone if hes not there tomorrow.

Hopefully he met MH in a car park somewhere and shot him with a sawn off shotgun.

A bit excessive, let's try just sacking him?

Maybe someone's taken him out. Zamora must know something. He's eating his own grub. It's clearly laced with a deadly football-hating serum, and it's working. Bosingwa and Traore are looking for wild flowers in the turf, much more important than all that tackling and passing stuff. Special investigators heading LR way, symptoms found.

Lots to think about - think quicker!!!

Fair play to the author for not assuming or speculating wildly but I doubt they'd be swapping knitting patterns.

Also rumored that senior QPR officials met in France with Benitez.

MH is obviously Tonys man. Can't see MH being sacked by anybody else except by Tony himself. Considering Tonys actual location right now, I think its fair to assume that there will be no sacking until Tony is back at HQ.

Hughes doesn't desrve the courtesy of a dignified face to face send off.

TF should just text him Bowen and co saying "Don't come back again "

Benitez talk is about as strong as all the other rumors floating around.
He would be good for the long term but not sure about immediate as he has been out of the game for a while.
Personally I would prefer him to Harry.
With regards to TF having to be at LR for the sacking I disagree, he can tell Beard to do it immediately.
Only thing holding it up is probably talking or meeting with replacement.
Plus what new manager really wants Man Utd away for first game?

i wondered where the French sources came from when it was reported we were interested in him.

Wed be daft not to have him on the shortlist as we dont want to give in to every managers demand, we did that to Hughes and look what happened.

His agent said he was interested, couple it with this report and the odds and it seems to be between him and Arry with Sven and an outsider. Everyone else is 67/1 or longer odds.

Not a good sign to haul him out of training. Would get the players more unnerved than normal - if of course that is possible with that lot!!!

Maybe the Beard / Hughes meet was just a 'where do we go from here Mark?' conversation to see what Plan Z he has up his sleeve to turn over Man U. Why not? Norwich have done it.......
