Fulham to resist any move for skipper

Sky Sports understands Queens Park Rangers boss Mark Hughes is keen on being reunited with Fulham midfielder Danny Murphy.

Hughes has made midfield reinforcements his top priority before the close of the transfer window and he is thought to be considering returning to his old club for Murphy.
Rangers chief Hughes is a huge admirer of Murphy having worked with him at Craven Cottage last season and sees him as a key addition to his side.

Murphy has established himself as a key member of the Fulham side since arriving at Tottenham in 2007 and is club captain.

Fulham would not welcome any move for Murphy with Cottagers boss Martin Jol keen to keep hold of the former Liverpool schemer.

Murphy is thought to be happy at Fulham and it is unlikely the Cottagers would consider cashing in on the player.

This is such a non starter i can't even understand why Sky would run the story.

He would be an excellent replacement for Barton.

I just can't see Fulham doing Hughes any favours I'm afraid.

That Murphy would have been an excellent acquisition is undeniable. But it doesn't change the fact that, as RTID says, no way will Fulham let their captain leave and Al Fayed is never going to do any business with Hughes.
