Tan has set out a list of targets for his new manager that he wants him to achieve over the next three years. Eventually he would like to see the club llft the World Cup.

I'm not conviced he's being realistic - there are some good teams out there.

I've been reading the Cardiff board and apparently (according to Jck 200) this transfer window is their first step towards dominating British football.
They have a wonderful financial set up and can resist any bids that come in for one of their superstars that have been setting the Premiership alight with their skill and derring do.

I expect them to sign Luis Suarez either this window or next and OGS to walk across the Taff, which Tan will have turned red, by the start of next season.

We can only dream of this sort of leadership, if only "Jinx" had listened to Dai...

They're already singing from different hymnsheets because Mehmet Dalman has said their "first and only" objective is staying up. Now we have the manager saying something else. That fact he's on a rolling 12 month contract tells me both parties aren't 100% convinced.

He's potentially a good appointment and like most people I'm flabbergasted he's gone there, though Molde have struggled in the Norwegan League this season so that may have had a part to play. Funny how in previous successful seasons with them he didn't want to leave Norway. But I can see the argument that it's a win win for OGS because it it goes tits up he can always blame a bitchcrazy owner.

Yes that Jck has his/her finger on the pulse , oh how I bemoaned that we never had bought Odemwingie , though I've heard a rumour that Utd are after they're cultured left back Andy Taylor and are going to make bid for him in this window so we'll have to see how well they keep one of their 'superstars".

Quite correct VETCH - glad you picked that up. Perhaps it was more of a compliment than even that.

"I would like us to finish above Swansea. They've almost gone forward as a little bit of a role model, Southampton as well - they're the clubs I've looked at and seen what they've done over the last few years."

In saying that he'd like to finish higher than Swansea, it could be inferred that by doing so, we would be bound to stay up as there is no possibility that you would go down.

Seems a fairly logical explanation to me. He also mentioned Southampton as well as Swansea, but that's been conveniently overlooked.

Hey Ho, another sad thread about Cardiff - what will you have to talk about if we weren't around to provide you with the ammunition?.......<laugh>

But you keep providing it nonetheless. <laugh> Isn't it right that Tan looked at the player stats and complained that Marshall hadn't scored? <doh> No really - that is true apparently and was reflected in one of the chants I heard at the Arsenal game recently.

But I knew you'd be here to comment on this and you didn't let me down.

"it could be inferred that by doing so, we would be bound to stay up as there is no possibility that you would go down."

Not really. Most of your fans would be happy to finish 17th with us in 18th but at least they're honest about it. Could have bet money on you coming over today and PM'd one of our lot to say so - lucky I packed my fishing rod. <laugh>

Oh, and since when does the content of our board - sad or otherwise - have **** all to do with you? Now run along there's a good chap. <ok>

You are such a vulgar person Aussie.........<laugh>

Talk about fishing rods pal - you wouldn't know one if you saw one. Straight in hook, line and sinker. I just knew you were there just waiting to take the bait.

"Now run along there's a good chap"....such a patronising little erk as well...........<laugh>

Ole seems like a good punt. Won stuff in a lesser league, a good figurehead and connections. Someone likeable as a front for the club. Someone respected.

The quote seems honest, but probably not politically sensible - Malky Mackay was always keen to focus on Southampton and ignore the Swans. I understand why he did it and I personally think that would be the way forward.

The players linked with Cardiff don't necessarily seem the best bet: the player he wants to bring from Molde screams Cornelius, in the sense that he is potentially very good but really in the longterm. If you are to be reasonable, the player would need a few months to adjust to the new league, by which time they might have been relegated.

They clearly need a bit more decisiveness and pace upfront. Links with Man u might be useful in bringing Zaha (at least he's successful in English football and been training with Man U) rather than paying out for Ince, although possibly both would be a good idea (as Ince might be available for less). They then need a more experienced striker - someone with "presence" to make the use of the wingers and focus on setplays. A newspaper suggested that Steven Fletcher might be available - I would definitely go for him, although Sunderland would be reluctant to sell to a rival.

Although those suggestions would be good for us too...

Well that's so sad, as it says outside the station " Ambition is Critical" Ole must do the same drugs as Terry. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

If I was a fan i'd be wondering what the hell we are having a manager, with his only ambition is to finish above there rivals. Shouldn't they be aiming for a cup win say Capital One and a Europa League place. Mmmm now who have done that. <whistle>
