This on/off transfer saga about Swansea and Taylor the LB......... Swansea paid £150,000 for Taylor last summer, a fee set by a transfer tribunal. They have apparently told Newcastle he is now worth £10 million, although realistically they would probably sell for around a quarter of that figure. Set me thinking.........who else have TOON bought/sold whose value has sky rocketed in a year? Here's your starter for 5* Boumsong............free to " a nice villa in spain for Greame Souness"........sorry that was a Freudian slip..........meant to say £8 million in one year!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bassong.............£500k to £8 million in a Year!!! Sicknote........£16.8million.........to a crock of s**te in a year!!!!........
Zogs, cost about £500k from Le Havre then was sold to Wigan for about £6m. Ok it was over three years, not one, but you get my point.
Apparently there was a £1m buy out clause but now they've kicked off saying that isn't the case, last I heard Taylor was sueing them for breach of contract. I reckon it'll be resolved in the end and we'll get him for £1m.
chris waddle ,tribunal said 400,000 we wanted more ,lots more ,spurs sold him 2 years later for 4 mill ,we got jack ,no sell on clause
It was really, Carroll was supposedly valued at £1m when we were relegated, surplus to requirements. Low and behold, 18 months later...
Could Taylor not just invoke Fifa's Article 17 to buy out his contract like Colo threatened to when Deportivo slapped a higher price tag on him? Depends how much he's on I suppose though as that would probably be more than the £1m release clause.
^ He needs to be 3 years into his current contract seeing as he is only 22. Well if you got a reliable source to back that statement I might believe it, but over the years he spent at us his value would of changed. I am sure the OP wanted players who's value increased after spending a year with us, or I may be wrong, but getting a young lad then selling him for 35 million is immense, I am not denying that.
