Ouch. We were insipid bordering on woeful tonight. Every single club has something to prove in the next 6 matches, and the fact we're going to take an absolute fcking tanking at City won't help the confidence. Sadly, I'm going with 1 point, vs Villa, and a very nervy end to the "campaign". Or "slog" as our owner refers to it as.

Actually, this is very worrying. 1 point (or less, in fact) will see us on 32 from 31 points. How confident are the "we will not go down" gang?

Question - if things turn to absolute turd, which is likely, do you think the board would act on appointing a new manager?

It would have to be pretty monumental. I don't think they will do anything until the summer regardless.

I honestly don't think they will.

They will think 'we only need another 4-5 points to stay up'.
Plus Fat Ash is stubborn so won't be seen on going back on a decision.

The Mackems have proven they put more effort into it.
It's their biggest game of the season also.. but fair play to Gus for getting the 3 points- stats don't lie.

It looked odds on 3 points against Villa but by the time they come here they'll have a new manager installed and who knows then. ( lets see how long it takes their due dilligence for a new manager )

5 - 7, either of which will see us safe.

44 or so points by the end of the season

I agree. 4 at best, possibly 0... I have serious doubts if we can achieve 45 points this year... I hope this Rangers thing is sorted out quickly and hopefully fatty will **** off... but given the new tv deal I think there is no way he going to stop riding the arse off this Cash Cow!!!! I have lost all interest in this club under this regime. And Regime it is!! A Meglomaniac only concerned with lining his pockets at the expense of the masses.. Lets hope for a Ceausescu-like ending to the whole sorry saga!

Seriously, there's a lot of optimism here. We look every bit as bad as last season. Sissoko looks like he's thinking about a house move to Paris or London. Cabella is still an easy target. Williamson is the most woeful player I've seen in a decade, just about beating the unbelievably counter-productive "talents" of Gouffran. Aarons appears to be hiding until the season finishes. Haidara still can't trap a football. Cisse will get the odd chance, but the formation (or lack thereof) really doesn't use his strengths. We don't appear to have any semblance of an identity (four years and counting), and against Palace I think we got a point purely because we looked so utterly confused we ended up slightly confusing them.

Basically we desperately need Janmaat, Colo, Krul, Colback and Perez to stay fit. That five should just about scramble enough points to get us over 40.

Can't disagree about any of this, but I think you over estimate the standard of the competition.

No, I just know that the "competition" all beat us quite regularly (Leicester, Sunderland) and they all will also grab points from each other. I'm just saying we shou;d all be a little more prepared for relegation than assuming it won't happen.

I can't see it. We'll limp there but we'll make it to safety.
