With all of the betting activity that surrounds our football, how long do you think it will be before we have a major match-fixing scandal in the Premiership?
i think personally there prob already has been some stuff oging on that the press have missed. like lets face it rooney's dad got cuaght in scotland so do we really think nobodys at it? Grobelaar finally got caught out. not sure if a club will be done like juve though

I deliberately set the question up to try an avoid the suggestion that a Juve style scam would take place. I think it would be more on the scale of the Pakistani cricketers

I cant see how a high profile League like the Prem could have a syndicated betting assault on it,im sure i read somewhere that there's a specialist police squad been set up to deal with illegal betting in sport in the aftermath of the Pakistan cricket scandal. But if there was a way of doing it im sure it involve a high profile former Prem player working abroad(probably in Asia)
But the really BIG bucks bets are going to happen in the Middle/Far East - well out of the way of any UK police. Every Premiership match is televised remember. It's a sad world but I think it's more likely to be pressure on players more than cash in the back pocket. There must be a number of high profile Premiership players who would feel highly vulnerable to being 'outed' as gay.
the pakistan style stuff s already revealed.... grobs got caught out a long time ago didn;t he? rooney and his dad bribed a former youth team mate as well so i am firmly sure that it goes on.... especially at this point in the season when sides in midtable just lay down for sides. RObson got caught touting every prem club going to dodgy guys in said far east... why he's still an ambassaodr for utd i do not know. so corrupt. also..... in this case we'd be talking about huge huge sums of money and i think to get a goalkeeper and defender or amybe charlie adam to miss a pen... well you'd need an agent involved.
