What's he ever won? What have we ever won? Gyan is a cut above what we are used to over the last 20 years and longer (apart from one or two exceptions, who also won nowt)!

Steve if Gyan had laid the ball off in the situation you had mentioned then we would probably have scored, the chance he could have created was far better than the 1in10 chance he probably had of scoring, same in the first half when he lashed the ball over the bar when crossing with 2 players in the box was a much better option.

Sorry but there is no valid argument for Gyan at the minute, he is a luxury we probably can't afford for precious PL points,

Asamoah Gyan's consistently scored 1 in thee at every club he's been at.

Asamoah Gyans performances in the world cup took a little fancied Ghana team to within minutes of a world cup Semi Final.

Asamoah Gyan is our record signing.

Asamoah Gyan is rated by managers at clubs of a much higher stature than our own.

Asamoah Gyan (along with Sessegnon) is quite comfortably the most skillful player in our squad.

Asamoah Gyan is far better than any forward we have on the bench.

Asamoah Gyan scored some very important goals for us last season.

Everyone's pissed off but this thread is idiotic and a knee jerk reaction.

No, he'll never score twenty goals in a season, but he isn't expected to, he's expected to be a second striker. It's Bruce's fault for not signing a proven goal scorer.

I don't really give a toss what sort of mood you're in. Our position seems pretty bleak and we don't need abuse hurled at the lad who's going to play a major part in us moving forward as a club.

But we may not have done and if he had squared it, and not scored, others would have been saying he should have shot and probably would have scored.

scapegoat time me thinks, and its Gyan atm, next week if Gyan plays well but we loose 3-2 it will be Anton or another defender.

Gyan has to play on Tuesday night for me A for match fitness and B he has a very good chance of scoring which will boost his confidence.

    Disco...

Asamoah Gyan has not performed for Sunderland in the best league in the world.

    End of, no argument.

So when someone offers a reasoned argument... Which you asked me to. You discard it and say end of. Your debating skills are frightening.

And why is he not expected to score 20 goals a season ? £13 million, only striker on the pitch for us at the minute.

Surely Bruce thinks he is our 'goalscorer' ?

He is not 100% fit that is clear to me, he was a yard short today. The guy can make something happen from nothing, he is a type of player we have not had before. We just need another option for when it's not going his way. Welbeck, Campbell and Bent are 3 very big loses, there is too much expected of Gyan now.

because its bloody hard to get 20 goals.

last season only 2 done it

1 Dimitar Berbatov Man Utd 20
2 Carlos Tevez Manchester City 20

and berba scored 13 in 4 games, but played 28.

and no one done it in the 08/09 season anelka was top with 19 goals.

You are obviously a tool if you think you can just dismiss any facts that go against your "highly" educated opinion.
Maybe Gyan thinks we are not good enough for him. Reading this, who could blame him?

Sorry, not buying the fitness excuse.

Not saying Gyan is a bad footballer, not a goalscorer which we desperately need.

Quinny stated in his recent roadshow at the Rainton Arena that Bent WOULD be replaced, it ain't happened and Gyan is not a goalscorer, Bruce playing him up front on his own is obviously thinking that he will get the goals required.

Cyprus I can assure you that I ain't no 'tool', yes I am well educated but all you seem to have done is defend anything SAFC.

Please be sensible, I have been a season ticket holder for 23 years and are entitled to an opinion, whether you, Disco or anyone likes it or not.

    <laugh>

    You start off with....

    "how **** is Gyan ?
    Seriously...not interested, can't pass, can't shoot.
Get rid of the ****er and get a striker in !."

Now he's not a bad Footballer FFS.
You old chum are talking utter cack.

If I were you I'd revisit the thought that led you to believe you're well educated. "I ain't no 'tool'" and "I have been a season ticket holder for 23 years and are entitled..." I agree, you're entitled to an opinion but you're not entitled to call yourself well educated off the back of that post, you sound like you were educated on a pig farm.
