You havnt given your opinion once, apart from on Suso having the wrong game to feature in. You asked the question 'how **** is Borini' and said 'we must have been watching different games'.
What is your opinion on Suarez then? That poor first touch he had and missing his chances in front of goal, is he worse than Carroll?
The only thing Borini did wrong today was his heavy touch from a Suarez through ball. Otherwise he was busy, made some good passes.
Suarez holds on to the ball too much instead of passing, yes he's better than carroll, i think your humouring me there. The problem is people can't accept how bad we are at the moment, i want us up there fighting for everything but were miles behind top 4 and it's awful to see that.
Borini has been poor so far for us. But it doesn't help that he's playing so deep on the wing, he needs to be higher up the pitch than he currently is so that he's in a position to make runs in behind the defence and not be receiving the ball on the half way line with his back to goal when he's not great at passing/dribbling.
I think we all agree that we're miles behind top 4, but we're not bad at the moment. We're unlucky and have been hard done by a LOT more this season than usual. Borini is the wrong person to blame for these errors and the run of form. He's been solid for a few weeks now.
We were the better team today and a victim to dreadful refereeing. Our football is definitely improving. Gerrard and Allen run the midfield very well today. Skrtel and Agger were safe. Johnson and Kelly were also fantastic. For Suarez, I dont think it is that he holds the ball to long, I think he takes it to wide to often in the box and runs out of options. Henderson was good when he came on. I think you need to be a patient and support your team like a proper fan.
We've had the hardest start out of everyone. Lets see where we are after our next 3 league fixtures which are Norwich (A), Stoke City (H) & Reading (H). Picking 7/9 points out of these games would put is in a decent position.
They tend to say 10 games in the time when you can start to judge a season. You can see our football is improving.
I was humouring you a bit there, it's obvious that Suarez is better than Borini and Carroll but he escapes criticism. As for Borini, at £10m I didn't expect much from him but it is worrying that this is our attack. Instead of saying how **** Borini is, we should be saying how **** our striking options are. Like you said, way behind the teams above us. Watching Man City now, they always have 3/4 bodies in the box when we had one or no one.
If we had got Dempsey I expect he would start ahead of Borini. Assaidi is still getting back to fitness. He looked awesome against Young Boys and will improve us.
Not a natural goalscorer? Please..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AqhwDrD61aM If Brendan plays him through the middle, he'll score you goals. And IMO Suarez behind him in the AMF role, in a midfield trio with Joey and Gerrard, would provide the chances for Fabio to score. You've played three of the probable top four and, were it not for errors and dodgy decisions, you'd have beaten two of them. The same is true for the WBA game. For what it's worth, if I were a Liverpool fan, I'd appreciate that this season is one of transition and be incredibly excited and optimistic for the seasons to come.
Maybe i was a bit harsh on borini, he's not ****, i'm just frustrated at the mo, manure winning at anfield and they were average today. Why didn't Coates make the bench today?
I am happy for Sterling to start. I think he has been fantastic. But we need multiple ideas and options. The system is just as effective with Sterling. The main point I was making was where I would like to see Assaidi. For me second idea I said 'with the wide men cutting in onto there strong feet'. Sterling and Assaidi are both right footed I believe.
I dont see how Coates would have made any difference. We need experience on the bench. That is why Carragher is there. He is also more versatile that Coates.
Wise words and a great neatral view. This could work well: -------Gerrard-------Allen------- ---------------Suarez------------- --Sterling----------------Assaidi- ----------------Borini-------------- Though if Kelly and Agger are out I may favour Downing on the right as he is better defensively.
I agree. Good post. http://www.sportingintelligence.com...t-starts-as-swans-and-hammers-ease-in-160801/ As detailed here we've had the hardest start of the season along with Southampton. The level of difficulty is pretty much reflected in the table, where Swansea and West Ham are doing relatively well bcause of their easier starts and we are struggling points wise along with Southampton because of our tough starts. After 10 games it'll balance out a little and we'll be closer to finding team's true positions.
