To be fair Eddie i think for smaller nations it comes in peaks and troughs. Belgium have ben poor for a while and now have a opretty handy team and the same is probably true for the lieks of norway and, to a lesser degree Denamark. They might have one or two decent players but once in a while they get a really good team. England suffers from thinking we're better than we are, too many committees and too much bureacracy deciding how things should be organised rather than letting kids just play the bloody game and a dearth of decent Australian, South African, New Zealander and Pacific Islander footballers who we can claim as being English a la cricket and rugby union.......
Wales is on a high, Swansea and Cardiff in the top division, can't remember either of them being in it all my life. They've always managed to produce the odd outstanding player though: Rush, Giggs, Bale, Hughes, Jones, Evans, Thomas, Davis, Davies, etc.
Rush was **** all without Dalglish!! What did he do in Italy or playing for Ivor The Engines, **** all that's what. A passenger for Dalglish.
At least you'll get a decent smart arsed comment out of Strachan after the game. that'll be worth tuning in for.
