Over the past few days we have had horses running which perfectly, and I do mean perfectly, sum up their connections â Sir Henryâs Highly Skilled and Amy Ryanâs Dam Beautiful, what a lovely, lovely name for a filly by the way, whilst today we have another in the shape of Mr Gosdenâs Skilful. Are the membership aware of any other examples or can they make up a name (no more than 18 characters, including spaces and punctuation, donât forget) which perfectly describes an owner, trainer or jockey?!?

I see that quite possibly the ultimate horse to be named after one of it connections ran in the old ‘card commencer’ at Bangor-on-Dee on Saturday. And won the heat in a canter as well. In view of how he is beyond equal in the sport and how his achievements are unsurpassed has a horse ever been more well named that this: Mr Henderson – Master of the Game
I always thought it was fitting that Joe Mercer's last winning ride as stable jockey for Dick Hern was Amity.
