Has anyone else considered the possibility that the money that Warnock has to spend is actually the expected proceeds of selling Taarabt and that no new money is being made available?

It doesn't matter whether Tarbs is sold or not,Warnock will not be given a penny to buy new players.
All you have to do is look at the players that have been given contract extensions, and the new players brought in.
Boothroyd no fee,Dyer a free agent who's had it,Webber without a club!.....Im sorry but i'm too depressed to continue.

That depends on how you look upon it. Warnock may have the option on how he spends it, on transfers and/or wages.

Copied my response from another thread - seems to be a similar 'no money' type question.

Given Taarabt was/is part of the current squad Bernie said we could keep, you'd have thought the revenue from the sale of a current player would be added to the £10m budget for team development...

Appears Warnock is now suggesting otherwise.

He's said on Talksport, no money available. What happened to the limited £10m budget the Goons were talking about a few weeks back?

He was true to his word if it slipped his mind that Taarabt was going to be sold, and that it was the proceeds of that sale that Warnock had to play with.

The goons aren't spending because they have no long term desire to keep the club.

The only consolation is that they've realised that at least a minimal investment is required to protect their interests (signing on fees etc). The worry is that, by doing so, they're admitting that a sale isn't imminent.

The consolation is that, the last time NW said there was no money, we signed some players shortly after...

I think the safest message to take from Warnock's Talksport interview (and Roller's horrible thought) is expect nothing more and be grateful for anything that happens to turn up this side of the transfer window closing.

Personally, I think our favourite duo will pocket the nine million, or whatever it turns out to be after Spurs have had their slice. And Sir Neil will be left dealing with scraps!
