daib0 here again, reflecting on where we both are. Well, chins up, it's not all lost. Three clubs have had longer winless starts than QPR and Reading and still avoided relegation, two of them comfortably so.

How to survive a sluggish start

Derby County 2000-01: 13 winless games, finished 17th
Jim Smith’s men finished eight points clear of trouble, ensuring they stayed up in their penultimate match with a 1-0 victory over champions Manchester United at Old Trafford. But their first win had not come until Nov 18 when they beat Bradford 2-0 at Pride Park.

    Everton 1994-95: 12 games, 15th
Everton registered their first win against West Ham on Nov 1. The victory did not save manager Mike Walker, who was sacked seven days later. Joe Royle took over and had an immediate impact, with a 2-0 victory at home to Liverpool in his first game. Everton finished five points clear of the relegation zone and won the FA cup.

    Blackburn Rovers 1996-97: 11 games, 13th
Having won the league just two seasons before, Blackburn made a disastrous start, losing seven of their first 11 games. But Tony Parkes won his second match after being appointed as caretaker in place of Ray Harford and Roy Hodgson came in to lead Rovers to safety.

So ... can we both then?!!

Not a hope. One of us at least is a certainty to go down. My bet is Reading. We have far greater potential.

daibO, we are not in any position to lord it over Reading but I have to agree with Ciarrai that you look in greater danger judging by the second half. However, football is a strange game so I reall ywould not be rushing to making predictions about other teams while being so concerned about my own.

Were you at the match? Surprised to see empty Reading seats.

hard to say, anything could happen. I'll agree that your squad is talented, just the subs yesterday would have graced most teams ...
I'm in North Spain at present, and we're in a huge economic mess as you all know, so that's severely restricting my visits at present ... my wage has just been reduced a 6th by obligation *** sob sob ***

Nice thoughts Diab0 but 3 fairy tales in nearly 20 years smacks of desperation on both our parts.

Whilst we may have the better squad, Reading clearly have the better manager atm.

Reckon the clever money in both camps would be on the purchase of parachutes!
