Fraser was my standout poor player on tuesday (saturday doesn't count as nobody played well). In part. my feeling is that he should be good enough to be part of a promotion campaign, but like nearly everyone in this squad, he's just sporadic. Impossible to plan when both owner and budget are unknown, but Curbs was really angry last saturday about the lack of a leader character in the team, and frankly Fraser should be one who is waving his arms and making things happen. If semi anonymous midfield players and sporadic defenders were the key to promotion, we'd be battling for an automatic spot. But the entire squad could be summed up by the word meh. Rak-Sakyi will be playing his final games for us I assume - he isn't Premier ready yet, but he probably needs a bigger challenge next season, though if we put together a better squad, maybe we could make someting happen. Dodson and Leaburn will be part of a team next season I assume, but given the money sloshing about, Leaburn may well get an offer he can't refuse too. So onto Morecambe. Mid table meets relegation haunted. It would be nice if we could hunt up a memorable performance and win clearly. Hmmmm
I'll have to miss this one for a 70th birthday barbecue with the in-laws, where it will probably be raining.
Had two glorious days up here where the haggis run freely in the fields - bit of rain later today so time for a sports bar !
Well so much for a winning end to the season. Fair play to Morecambe fighting valiantly for their 3rd tier status.
