That first half was as bad as anything I've ever seen from Charlton. We had a decent spell once Leko came on, but the last 15 minutes we panicked, had 3 men up front, no midfield, just hoof it up. Leko was our dangerman but hardly got the ball to his feet at all after he scored. Our new players were disappointing, especially Kirk, who offered nothing in attack or defence. I'd rate Elerewe above Lavelle, and I'd no idea where Lee was supposed to be playing. MacG and Matthews played well, Stockley ran his heart out as usual, that's about it. Adkins has to take responsibility for the fact that Cheltenham were so superior in the way they were set up, the way the players supported each other, and for the first half and last 15 minutes we made them look like Brazil. Not for the first time either. Shockin, juss shockin.

Pretty much the same as everyone else. The first half was dire, we set up wrong, and never seemed to have a game plan.

We frequent the same pie & mash shop. I'll ask the great man for his thoughts the next time our paths cross.

I've had a very good weekend since the football, but am still concerned by the awfulness of Saturday's first-half performance.

Yeah. I was fairly wound up with the number of people who criticised the club for renewing Watson's contract when he had a clause that allowed him to do it himself, which he did. But he isn't a clever passer of the ball who can open up a defence with a neat pass - oppostion teams don't seem to find him dificult to avoid when they bear down on our goal, and his link up play is crap. I know Clare and Dobson have been crisitcised for not fitting in and living up to the demands of some of our fans, but they could both do a better job than Watson. I was happey to give Adkins the benefit of the doubt prematch but the moment I saw Watson starting, my reaction was WTF!

How is the camp this week (forum) all happy and patient or open to some critique ?

Any signs of promise going forward ?

I’m not going to OD because a handful of games -there are certain fans that wanted loads of new players in and also expected them to be an instant success , sorry but that’s not going to happen, the team was put together very late and will take a bit of time to gel . First half of the game we were truly awful second half we looked a lot better but couldn’t sneak an equaliser not that we really deserved it. I’m clinging on to Gilbey coming back soon and Watson not featuring at all. Onwards and upwards please :emoticon-0148-yes:

If we don't improve it's onwards and downwards.

It is I - the one true original. I managed to claw my way back from the precipice of doom. I clambered out of the oubliette of despair. And I escaped the dark, dank cavern of sorrow. It's been arduous, harrowing and deeply disturbing for many a long month.

    Still, mustn't grumble.

    How's your luck, bud?
