When the marketing managers vacancy is advertised at less than the national average wage what do we expect. Mind you it's a bit more than I'm on and even I can see glaringly obvious oppertunites being missed has can most of us
If we can't sell out our first ever European cup tie, at a tenner a ticket, then we should be utterly ashamed. Anyone who doesn't turn out for this one can't call themselves a Hull City fan.
Great excitement from the fans who are traveling, respect to them, great media opportunity to follow the trip in to the unknown, home game should be a great night.
Anyone who is able to that is - my son who is a Hull City fan and season ticket holder would love to be there bit will working a 2pm - 10pm shift that Thursday
If 600 can make the journey all the way to the first leg then im sure i can manage three miles to the kc, hope plenty of others do to
So what advertising was there then? None. This isnt the club. Its the fans. They arent coming. Many like me are away on holiday. Thats life, especially nowadays. Look at the gates for our last European adventure. We'll beat that easily. But lets attack the Allams like usual for everything.
The Allams have got the ticket prices completely wrong again. no surprises there is there. They should have used dynamic ticket pricing and started at 13p weeks ago thus ensuring a full house with tickets going for at least a hundred quid nearer the date. Clueless completely clueless and he's 75 and wont live much longer and god knows what Ehab wants to do with the club then.
Its my daughters Birthday that day...she is miffed because I wont be going on her Birthday meal...But this is history......and will never happen again...First ever European Game. Perhaps I get her a commemorative programme for her Birthday present. She would like that!
There's two issues; the apathy of our fans towards any game that isn't included in their season pass is ridiculous. I simply can't understand how season-pass holders, those who watch the team every week, can be not bothered about our first game in Europe or about a quarter final at home with a chance of Wembley. But at the same time, other football clubs and rugby clubs in our City maximise their potential through marketing. We can't expect people to come to us, other businesses don't do that they get in people's faces. Why is Hull City never in your face when you live in Hull and like football?
Well I am looking forward to it. Will be listening to Radio Humberside coverage on Thursday unless it is on a stream anywhere. Maybe after Thursday the club and media will promote the home leg more, especially if we get a good result in the away match.
Maybe it's because the media and Sky have funneled everyone ( especially the young ) towards the Premier league and CL and rendered everything else worthless. It's there agenda and the young have bought it hook line and sinker. They'll never know the joy of all the European competitions and the importance of the FA Cup like we have. Wonder what Sky will do without CL football
I'm not sure that makes sense. The Europa League has been commercialised in the same way as the Champions League, albeit to a much lesser extent. It should be prestigious to be in the 3QF for a club like us. I think people are just ****s.
It makes perfect sense and your "much lesser extent" comment is exactly why it makes sense. The Europa League is 'promoted' as the ugly ginger stepson of the Champions League.
