Do you mean that because you are gay, you are juicy for reference? I'm not homophobic but you don'tcome across as being juicy - rather a dry and shrivelled personality. You say that you are here to discuss football. If you are capable, suggest something to do with football rather than posting moronic and insulting comments.

The atmosphere has a direct correlation to the quality off football on the pitch.

The match was dire last night, the players didn't put any effort, in the tactical decisions were once again atrociuous and as a result the atmosphere was poor. The majority of fans respond to what's going on on the pitch, and if the players aren't showing passion neither will they.

Did find the Amoo song fairly amusing though. Credit to whoever came up with that.

What a load of tripe, if you get behind the lads then they will play better. Hope you let somebody who is more deserving of it have your seat next season, we don't need moaning plastic gits like you bringing the atmosphere down.

Back to original post, yes the atmosphere was crap last night. You've got to give Burnley some credit for that, they set off at pace, played round and through us and in those first few minutes everyone could see that they were miles better than us. Even Marney looked better than our best midfielder! (I never thought I'd be saying that <diva>)

So the early goal, a slicker, quicker and more skillful team knocked the stuff out of the minority who make themselves heard. I sit next to a lad in E5 and both of us tend to get a bit shouty and join in the singing. Unfortunately around us is like Darby and Jones club, lots of old guys who have a job sucking air in never mind singing. Now don't get me wrong I go with my Dad who's 67 (Even he looks young when I look about! :emoticon-0105-wink:) and I have a laugh and a joke with the old boys down our line. I think the onus is on the younger fellas to sing up and create an atmosphere.

Anyway, Coventry here we come. 2 defeats in 3 games should be the focus for Nige so lets bring them back to earth and start again.

I think it's the other way round, if the players perform on the pitch then the atmosphere will pick up. NP's football may get results, but it doesn't make for a good atomosphere, it's hard to cheer a long ball to a strikeforce with a combined height of 6ft.

It's worth bearing on mind that this also going to be our first "nothing season" for a while, no promotion/relegation battle etc. so that will also have an adverse effect on the atmosphere.

I know of plenty of people who would go to games and sing and shout but they can't afford to go, this is half the problem, and the fans we picked up during the promotion/Premiership era don't appreciate where we are now, this is leading to the flat atmosphere at games. TWF's post sums up everything that is wrong with sections of the home support at the moment.

DJ, yeh back in the 80's with 4/5000 at BP we made loads more noise than we get with 20K. Maybe my ears were better back then? too much time spent in LA's :)

I agree with TWS the players need to lift the crowd, and yes now we're out of the relegation battle this season is peatering out!

Does anyone think moving the away support into the lower West stand (north end) and giving City fans the entire North Stand make any difference? I hope they do it and I hope all the East stand shouty lot move in and create a atmosphere, even attract the 'singer' out of the west stand lol

It's even dead most games in E2. It was quite lively nearer the start of the season and when we started winning games again, but it's dropped off now. Most teams seem to sing the s**thole song, so I've tried a few times to reply with what is as my signature below. Nobody joins in, then I hear loads of people whinging we have no reply to it, when I'm leaving the ground.

Last night when Burnley were having a bit of a sing-song and were enjoying themselves, I tried to start off "what's it like to, what's it like to, what's it like to see some teeth!?? what's it like to see some teeth!??" and "You're going back to to your banjo's! back to your banjo's!" ...just got a load of blank stares and everyone went back to shouting "Amoooooooooo" :emoticon-0118-yawn:

Best bit of going to fer ark was turning up in kempton with your mates and just stand there and sing your ****ing head off no one bat an eye lid. Most of the songs were made up in tuns before the game then aired at the game after a few goes it soon caught on.Fer ark ended up a ****hole but it was our ****hole and its soul never made it across to the kc.

Unlike the atmosphere at a half empty Bellend Road when City played there this season. Just like a library? On a Sunday evening when it's closed perhaps.
