Do you need medicals for a loan? I always thought that if the layer got injured you just sent them back?
Holt is not fat, he is big boned! what the hell is happening to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope the Villa fans welcome him, they don't seem very happy judging on the posts on Sky Sports, I think he will do well, won't score many goals but will definitely assist. I will be gutted if he scores against us, that would be the ultimate kick in the nether regions!
Well I for one would not be at all surprised to see Holt score the goal that keeps Villa up.Let's hope for the sake of the piss takers it's not us that is in 18th spot.
Depends if there's a loan fee or not, and presumably you want to check whether it's worth loaning a player in the first place. No point signing him, thinking that's your striker problems sorted, then finding out in two weeks he had early signs of glandular fever (for example), and would be out for the season.
wasn't there rumours that McNally put a stop on Holt joining Villa a while ago? if thats true it didn't work very well.
You can only choose who you sell a player to, for obvious reasons. After that it's out of your hands. I think McNally will be pretty happy with the result. This signing really does smack of desperation from Villa/Lambert and I'm not overly fussed. I don't think Villa will go down anyway and I don't think Holt adds anything except for plucking a few heart strings here.
Either he's over the hill or hasn't been played in the correct role - time will tell. After all he done for us, I wish him the best of luck and certainly don't begrudge him another shot at EPL football.
This sums up my feelings perfectly. He didn't feel comfortable with his role here under Hughton (I'd love to know how many of our squad do? ) and Rosler has made it clear he was surplus to requirements at Wigan. He was largely instrumental in helping NCFC get where they are today and for that, nothing but gratitude from me. Good luck to the guy - but not on March 1st, of course
I don't know, Benteke has just scored his first goal in 14hrs, he's hardly the player he was 12 months ago. Whilst Holt would undoubtedly score against us. Thankfully it's at Villa park not Carrow Road I think?
My feelings exactly Cromer. He did fantastic for us,and I am yet to be convinced that his replacements are any better.
It would seem that some Wigan fans are hardly mourning the loss of Holty and Villa fans a bit 'underwelmed' by his arrival: "Where it went wrong for Holt is a matter of debate, even the biggest optimist is now struggling to make any argument that it hasn’t actually gone wrong, or even that there’s any chance of things coming good for him at the DW. He’s looked lethargic and lazy, he’s struggling to get chances and the few that he does get are spurned, he just doesn’t look very good. Given that he was linked with international honours not that long ago, the growing conclusion is that he can’t be bothered and there’s a ‘one last big pay-day’ stench about his place in our squad." The full blog is here: http://www.myoldmansaid.com/grant-holt-wigan-norwich-supporter-inside-track/? Like Cromer and Yarco, I will always be grateful for what Holty did when he was here. He was massive. The same is true for Lambert, except that his petty vindictive actions against our club since he left have tarnished quite a bit of that for me.
My favourite among the many hilarious posts on various sites was one by a Wigan fan who suggested it was all a big misunderstanding, the truth being that Villa had put in a grant application to upgrade the Holte End .........
